What is a fair value as a rifle if both pieces were bought and mated.
Agreed.

Bolt and carrier worth $200
Complete lower as pictured worth $300

They all match, which is a plus for some.

$500 is unreasonable IMHO.

Re: M1D Garand one inch diameter scope mount

Holy crap.... I have a 1” M1D scope mount that came with an old cmp garand, which was not an m1d (along with some unrelated garand odds n’ ends). I wasn’t able to find any info. on it, I had just assumed that it was reproduction. I’ll have to dig it out....

Re: Century Rosario receivers?

Yep. Type III. Serial number will be C prefix next to three/four digit serial number. They will be cut for standard charging handle (unlike early Century build Imbels which are factory cut for folding charging handle). They will NOT say Rosario in them. In fact, they are some of the most sterile FAL...

Re: Izzy kits 299.00 at PSA

I purchased two kits, and happy with both. Both were complete with FN pattern muzzle devices, which was nice, as they were hard to come by previously (wrench flat centered). The only parts were missing was a loop for one of the stocks, and a gas tube pin. Not a single serial number anywhere to be fo...

I just received my Izzy kit and I’d like you guys to look at it and tell me if I’m missing anything. I also am wondering why the hand guards look different. Not only the color is off but the drill holes are different as well. https://imgur.com/gallery/LCE4YBL Nice looking kit, I would have been ple...

1. Can I build this myself? 1. Yes. Tools will cost you some cash up front. If you enjoy your first build and want to build again, there is nothing holding you back... how do you know unless you try? If you decide that you don't want to build, resale value for build tools is high, you should easily...

You can also grind the extractor groove off. Since it's not relevant top headspace
It is nice to have go/no-go gauges with portion of groove ground off as part of your "kit," when checking prospective purchases, especially with military surplus.

Re: Izzy kits 299.00 at PSA

If you intend on steaming and lightly sanding the wood, oven cleaner and hot water does a great job.

Before cleaning, wrapping in rags, drop in a black hefty bag, and let sit in the sun on some metal, will pull some of the cosmoline out of the wood.

It costs roughly $5 just to load the flipping mag just once. My free time for fun at the range is limited. I don’t have the time or interest in troubleshooting a fugged up $15 magazine. They do make amusing targets though.

Not brown gravy but have you guys tried Libby’s sausage gravy in the can? Not as good as homemade but pretty tasty on biscuits.
I have eaten the equivalent in Army mess. Pretty damn bland on it's own, but if you bust up a bunch of cooked sausage into it and add pepper, it can be good to hook.

ARS gave me a quote for building one and it's $2k+ so I'm looking for a pre-built rifle. Preferably nothing DSA or Imbel related. Thanks Let me...
