Re: Any Alluminim Receivers Still Around?

I ran across one of the Meeper aluminum 5.56 guns at the Knoxville Gunshow back in November. I had never seen/heard of them and almost walked out the door with it, but I ended up snagging an Imbel build instead.

Re: ...the waiting is killing me.

Congrats! I’m guessing you likely did a remote test with GLAARG or the crew out of Vermont? If so, those guys have their shit together and get the info turned over to the FCC super fast. I did a remote test for my Tech with GLAARG back in late April, and my call showed up in the system in less than ...

I’d be happy to give you a lift. I live 45 mins from the airport and 15 mins from Rockfish Gap. Shoot me a PM when we get back on the new board. I have the same username there.

No steam gauges in that, steam gauges was a more civilized age
My last PIC was just before 9/11, never had the chance to fly glass or GPS. The thought of an all glass cockpit gives me anxiety, I like gauges.

Re: The Titanic and Repercussions of its sinking

Speaking of the Titanic... I saw a YouTube documentary 3-4 years ago that purported that the sinking of the Titanic was an insurance scam gone horribly awry. They provided some pretty compelling evidence that the ship that was lost was actually the Olympic (that had been re-badged as the Titanic). I...

Looks pretty cool. I’ve been toying around with the idea of putting Tech Sights on my M70AB2, might try these instead.

Well given that they were $1200+ pre Rona, that price doesn't seem unreasonable.
Agreed. They were going for $1200-$1500 pre-Rona, and even higher on GB. Anything under $1200 right now is pretty much a “jump on it” price, IMO.

White trash. Every bit as dangerous as inner city thugs. In my experience, the white trash are way worse. I’ve spent a lot of time living and working in both the hood and in rural Pillbilly-ville. Generally speaking.. minding your own business, being respectful, and not carrying yourself like a naï...

SAR-3 gas journal question?

I'd like to pick up one of these JMAC combo blocks to install on my SAR-3. https://www.tactical-edgearms.com/product-p/gbc.htm

The description says it fits a .591 gas journal. Does anyone know if it will work with a SAR-3 barrel?

Re: Was there a batch of AK74 seized by ATF

If you click on one of the other rifles by seller yes they are TGI rifles. What’s the story on that? I wasn’t into ak’s back then, but I worked in Knoxville at the time. From what I remember, TGI ran afoul of some import laws. The ATF showed up for a “routine inspection” and seized thousands of gun...

Just a thought... I wonder if that is one of the guns from when TGI got hemmed up? Maybe not, but the seller being in Knoxville made me think of TGI.

That X-series stock is an abortion. No wonder you hate it. Tru dat, but I would say it is only 1/3 of his problem. Getting rid of the brake will fix 2/3 of his particular complaint me thinks. On the previous post (sorry cannot multi-quote posts here) your Imbel should be left hand thread. 9/16'-24 ...

Re: Random, how much should it cost to run gas line in house?

We recently had a natural gas line installed in the kitchen for a new stove. It was about a 40ft run of CSST thru a finished basement ceiling with a few twists and turns. I had already opened up the ceilings to install a pot filler supply line, but they did all of the drilling for the gas line. Took...

Re: Stock recommendations?

The new muzzle device I have for it is actually a Belgian-style combo device. I'm still going to replace the stock regardless, as it's ugly as hell and I want the gun to be a little more traditional looking. A couple questions while we're on the subject... Are the muzzle threads generally RH or LH? ...

Re: Stock recommendations?

The Entreprise muzzle device causes the stock to "whip" up at the end of the recoil impulse as it forces the barrel down, and that is "amplified" by the odd angle of the X-stock comb, which gives it an extra inch or so of travel before it slaps your cheekbone. IIRC. Thank you for describing it bett...

Re: Walther Arms and Kahr Arms customer service

Interesting. I've had one customer experience with Kahr, and they handled it quite well. Sent in a CW45 with major feed issues, they had it back in my hands in less than 2 weeks. The only aggravating thing is that they would only send the gun back to an FFL, so I had to pay $35 transfer fee to pick ...
