Re: Jen, Will DABTL be unbanned when when the Files goes live again......
If Supreme Beef is banned on the AK Files for serial misbehavior where does that place DABTL? I do not dislike Bill as we have a couple of things in common, but a professional agitatior does get old when he trolls each new thread with irreverent political comments. That I believe is serial misbehav...

Re: Izzy kits 299.00 at PSA
No response ? The regular FALFiles board is back up and running again so it's not likely that there is anyone looking at this temporary board anymore. The barrel should work. You will need to replace the gasblock with the gasblock that is in the Isareli kit. A couple people have ended up with Israe...

The Israeli gasblock uses the same components as the metric open ear gasblock.Invictus77 wrote: ↑Tue Aug 25, 2020 12:56 amGood on ya mate!!
Will the other Izzy gas parts work with the Belgian GB?
I had in my mind they would not, but my direct Izzy experience is about 1/2 notch above zero.

Re: What's the going rate on RA marked Fal kits?
Hey everyone. I use to be on the old board, been gone for a while. I was cleaning out the garage today and found a few RA marked kits and was wondering what they're going for now? 2 of the kits are matching numbered on Barrel, Lower, Bolt and carrier? One has a wood buttstock and one has a plastic ...

Re: AK Prices
Russian sanctions have blown up prices on the old Saigas and VEPRs. Bulgarian 74 barrelless kits have hit the $800 mark due to zero commercial supply available. Then add on the general firearms panic/record sales over the last few months.

You would have to swap out the gas plug, front sight post and associated parts, gas regulator, gas piston and spring. Easier to swap gasblocks.

I regularly buy so its easy for me to get something of a current inventory status of vendor offerings. There is low or no stock everywhere. A very serious ammo buying event is going on. Bunch of you dudes who are camped on mountains of ammo decided to buy more, didnt you? You need to stop now and l...

Re: New To FALs
Might want to press off your Israeli gasblock first and measure the inside diameter, it seems that several of these have been oversized which would complicate just using any random metric barrel.

Or it was imported by an individual, or was a sample that was brought in by someone that had filed to import a large number of them for commercial purposes.

Re: Type 2 on GB
Here's the deal. FN built commercial rifles for years that used the G prefix, just because it has a G serial number does it mean that it's a banned G series. Also, up until FALs were banned from import it wasn't uncommon for people that maybe served in the military to buy guns while stationed over s...

I looked on his website and only found an article on how to assemble the gas block. I really want to learn how to build this thing, but sending it to ARS is my last resort option. Re: Type 2 on GB
Yeah, the question is whether or not it’s sear cut. FN made rifles with the G serial number long after the US “G Series” imports so the G serial number doesn’t necessarily make it contraband.

The FAL isn’t listed anywhere as being a small arm that was used by Ethiopia, looking online most of Ethiopias small arms were Kalashnikov/Soviet based.

Pretty sure Adam762 has been out of those inch para conversion blocks for a while. He only made a handful of them to begin with.

I think that Israel sourced a lot of parts from FN, I don’t think they made everything in house.

If my memory is correct these were cut for metric mags. Does the inside of the front of the receiver look like the image on the left or the one on the right? https://www.perfectunion.com/vb/attachments/fn-fal-talk/23563d1360623860-recent-l1a1-info-needed-please-inch-vs-metric.jpg If it has a horizon...

Re: My first FAL how did I do ?
The British lower will not work with a para stock, you will need to change out the whole lower. You then need a para bolt carrier and top cover. Then once you get the metric lower that would work with the para stock you will need to either use the inch rear sight or change out the gas block to a met...

Re: Gas block journal too small on new SA58 barrel
An SA58 barrel is not a heavy barrel. Correct, and their standard metric gas block fit firmly on their barrel when delivered. I’m guessing it’s tolerance stacking in a bad way. I feel like it’s a safer bet that the Israeli barrel was out of spec ever so slightly than a 21st century mass produced ba...

Re: Gas block journal too small on new SA58 barrel
Tried to put my Izzy block on a brand new SA58 barrel and it just slid right on. No tapping it in, nothing. Had to bang it off the barrel section from the parts kit, but on the new barrel it just slid right on. My heart sunk a little. What are my options? I’m tempted to scrap the project at this po...
