Re: Ruger 10/22 Factory & Custom Builds
Fellow Filers, the Huey is back, with a vengeance! Nice wall of 10/22 stuff there Huey. Hope you save a copy for the Files when it resurfaces. I have two 10.22 Roogers, one is a used standard old 18" walnut stocked and the other a new Talo 1237 20" Target. Both shoot acceptably well and I ...

Gunplumber can do what you require. Don't know what his lead time is right now, or what it would cost. www.arizonaresponsesystems.com Is the Barrel Shoulder contacting the Receiver or possibly the inside rails? Use "Anti-seize" or dry threads? I would try flushing the Receiver/ Barrel area with Kroi...

Nuthin' to be ashamed of there. Nice rifle!
Shooter did pretty good too.
Something to do with barrel harmonics I'd think.

Aluminum cans in short supply, can't find Seltzer water products here. Beer supplies seem unaffected, thankfully. The Primer shortage of a few years back may have prompted many reloaders to stock up. I used to be happy with a 1K brick of each size as I could buy them when I wanted, now that isn't ha...

Re: Lower receiver lock lever screw thread pitch?
Takedown lever retainer pin/screw is a 10-32. Same as Frame Lock Fastening screw (DSA)?
Left hand thread I'd think.
Note; It's early and I've had only one cup o coffee, you've been warned!
Another note: Gunplummer may have this info on his website.

8-20-2020 @ 2000 hrs. What the hey, never won a thing in my life excepting an Anchor Pool in Manila Bay back in '65. Of course, I was assigned to Shore Patrol that evening and the San Miguel's had to wait a day. Glad I'm not doing the restoration, nobody would ever find nobody ever again. You're doi...

Re: Need a list of the 3 most common LS sizes FALS h/space to
Pushing actual locking shoulder in and out to check headspace is not a good idea on many levels. Buy pin gauges for that purpose. They will also resell well, and cost well under a $25 each locking shoulder. Some real GOOD advice given there. The Locking Shoulder goes in ONCE. The correct LS is dete...

Re: Need a list of the 3 most common LS sizes FALS h/space to
Buy the biggest ones you can find. Normally, or ideally, a FAL will take a .259" to .261" or close to it. In real life, it can be anywhere from .245" (DSA funky receiver trick) to .270". Haven't heard of any over that. I have one at .253" and another at .266", with several others at .257", .259" and...

Re: Just bought a FAL Kit. Any receivers in the Los Angeles area?
You may have to hold on a bit for an answer to your question. The Falfiles, and some other site called AcK files were hacked. This is a temporary holding pen until our home is rebuilt. For my Imbel kit, I bought an Imbel receiver from Parsi Int'l. He may have some left, not sure. Don't know how that...

Re: Never scoped my SA58 before - advice?
I have always used iron sights. I'd like to get a low-power scope, maybe a 1x to 4x illuminated fixed. It's the cross-hairs I want mostly, not the magnification. It's for an 18" SA58 carbine I bought in 2012. Last night I ordered the DSA FAL SA58 Extreme Duty Scope Mount - Standard Length Model Any...

Re: DSA/FSE Stolle style muzzle brake. Worth it or average?
It is said that the Stoll device contributes to the StG's reputation for accuracy by dampening barrel vibrations. I don't know about that, but they just look cool as shit and both of my StGs wear them. Recoil is mitigated by manipulation of the Gas Regulator making the FAL one of the softest shootin...

Re: New to me FAL
Had expected an "expert" would have come along by now, but here's my two bits worth. There's nothing wrong with an L1A1 Bolt and Carrier in your Argentine. I have a Brit BCG in an StG that runs fine. You can replace the Carrier with little to no change in headspace, generally. Problem is that modifi...

Re: How to BZO a FAL
BZO = Battle Zero I assume.
I don't know what the "procedure" is but a FAL sighted to 0.0" at 25 yds will be zero'd at 200 yds, at least according to the trajectory chart.
25 yds. 0.0"
50 yds. 1.1"
100 yds. 2.3"
150 yds. 2.0"
200 yds. 0.0"
250 yds. -3.9"
300 yds. -9.8"

Let us know when you have read it a couple times. You'll be an expert by then and we may have a few questions to ask. Jes kiddin ya know. Been hammering FALs together since '98. Sometimes they even work. GP's info would have come in handy then, but most questions could be answered by the members her...

Re: Stock recommendations?
I'd look for an original "humpback" style in good shape it you can find one. The StG style will fit, but for me the Hump is more comfy for shooting. A DSA is OK, but not as sturdy as a milsurp. They can be filled and weighted to give a better feel to them. For wood, an Ad in the Marketplace may loca...

Re: Shoot it, fixt it or wall hang it?
Yeah, an accident or severe misuse would explain the damage, such as using the thing for a club I suppose. I have a similar fancy stock that I found on ebay for an old 94 that I am gathering parts for. Some day, I'll get it on the rifle, maybe. I like the 94's and have half a dozen "pre-64's" rangin...

Re: Shoot it, fixt it or wall hang it?
I definitely would have some repairs done, stock properly inletted, and shoot it. Those cracks are NOT normal or common on a 94 Winchester. Bubba has struck again. There is very little stress in the area those cracks appear if the upper tang is properly inletted with a small clearance cut at the rea...

Adobo is good on chicken and fish, Sazonado Total on meat, soups and salads.
Goya Refried Beans and Red Beans are also on my shopping list.
I'll be looking for Goya to add to my shopping cart if it will irritate a leftist.
