The PARA is an interesting subject for this discussion. The 50.63 and SAR 48 PARA I owned/own are new or lightly used, so there are no dings. This argument is easily settled by examining inch pattern lowers. Even my most well worn Aussie and Brit lowers have no dings in the recoil plate. All my metrics also now use inch captive hammer springs so they avoid dings and are easier to disassemble with no tools except a slave pin to maintain tr...

I don't know how to secure the inch pattern lug to an aluminum mag body. Brazing used on steel mags would melt aluminum. Maybe some kind of low temperature silver solder? My best guess, would be rivets. Another option may be an insert in in the inch upper's mag cut that has a metric beak relief cut....

I've had to adjust many mags. You can squeeze them bare handed with the follower out. Go too far, and you can open them up a little with simple finger power. In no time you can adjust all you're mags. except maybe the aluminum ones that seem to be hardened.

I got mine at $5 ea. from, I think Sarco, in the early '90s. There are no ID markings except a couple with a white dots on the base plate.
