The Cherokee elder told his grandson, "My son, there is a battle between two wolves inside us all.

One is Evil. It is anger, jealousy, greed, resentment, inferiority, lies, and ego. The other is Good. It is joy, peace, love, hope, humility, kindness, empathy, and truth."

The boy thought about it, and asked, "Grandfather, which wolf wins?".

The old man quietly replied, "The one you feed."

My wife uses that story in her substance abuse counseling- red wolf vs white wolf. Very good parable.

Andrew Jackson lost the Cherokee vote when he said "I didn't get it" when told that story.

No, I talked to a fellow who knew a fellow whose uncle got to read the diary of a guy who claimed he was there, that's as good as notarized attribution for these forums.
