No idea who did this or why, but...holy crap. Wow. That launch from the ocean is incredible.

That looks GOOD. If they redid the original series like that, with the Galactica unsteady gun-cam on the battles and all...

Maned,

Where are you getting all this stuff? I would love to see more. Does it have a release date and will it be dubbed for region 1 release?

Thanks
Thorack

Just YouTube...this actually isn't from the movie. From what I can gather, it's a promo for a pachinko company.

Damned cool, though. And totally true to all the original designs from the series.

My son and I finished watching the entire series just last night. It took us almost three weeks.

ok for kids? my 13 year old loves anime but some is a bit to intense for kids.
( Ghost in th shell ) is a bit much for kids, one of his favorites is ( Steamboy ) and there are some others i've seen which are good.

The Americanized version was given all happy endings, though the original captain's health declines all through the first season. The original with subtitles actually had protagonists getting killed, including a main character present for several seasons who fought a delaying action, got shot multiple times, and still managed to set off charges that disabled a threat to Earth so the battleship could finish it off. Also, a fighter pilot who was shot, but managed to skid to a landing in the hangar with other characters before expiring...they edited that out, too.

All the storylines involve camaraderie, duty, honor, and heroic sacrifice to defend others when necessary, if anything. But yes, people do get killed, spaceships explode without anyone magically getting off.

Message for a kid is all good stuff.
