What sort of logging are you speaking of? Google isn't a browser.

If you get real paranoid, you can just telnet ot port 80 on the webserver and manually GET pages and parse the HTML yourself...

Anyway, I always use Firefox. Not only is it Open and Free, but it Just Works. If you are concerned about logging, etc. check the source code and see...

Firefox.

In terms of security, IE is the tard that flings the door wide open for the axe murderer. It lets ANY spyware in, lets ANY hostile ActiveX run...It's a POS.

Safari is not bad, Chrome is not there yet. Firefox is currently the best one, and has the best plugins.

Thanks to AdBlock, I've not seen any banner ads in about three or four years.

I switched from IE to Opera a couple of months ago. I like Opera better.

No perfect browser yet (I've got a whole bunch of them) but I tend to use Firefox the most (primarily for the security plugins) followed by Opera.

I use FF but it is default for Ubuntu. I'm not at all a fan of M$ products.

Yeah, I was going to ask the same. Gates has given lots of money to antigun groups.

And since when is open-source free developers "communism"? I think someone doesn't understand what that word means, or what open-source even is.

Hint: It's a community of developers who put together stuff and release it for free as a means of testing because they want to. It's how most of the familiar products we buy got started, even!

I just ditched IE for Firefox last week, and instead of multiple fatal errors, sometimes in the same day,I'm only having 1 a week...maybe.

It takes a bit of getting used to, but I like it better already.

Yup, in Revolution OS, Eric Raymond does a rant on communisim vs. Open Source. In communisim, sharing is forced. With F/OSS software and the GPL (and other Free licenses), sharing is offered, and the only time you are forced to share is when you take advantage of what others have offered and modify or redistribute.

I support capitalism, not the likes of Mozilla who is demanding MS be forced to include competitors products in WIndows, to be more 'fair'

Oh and I have used opensource before (various flavors of embedded linux) worthless at best. Switched to windows CE, presto, things WORK (and you actually get SUPPORT, not forums, where you ask a question and people callyou stupid for not knowing the answer).

Bill Gates has done more for this world then most people ever will.

And his focus on such things as stopping disease, and education, are a hell of alot more effective then 'hey lets give starving kids some laptops'

It's weird. In linux and winders I use opera for the most part because its fastest. In linux I opened my photo bucket and hit view all (contains around 600 photos) firefox choked and froze up. Opera did it plenty fast.

But flash videos played at a higher rate in firefox than opera in linux. But flash sucks in linux.

In winders the only thing I use firefox for is too look at hotmail or if opera is suddenly eating up a ton of ram for some reason. I'm using the beta 10 so I think there might be mem leaks.

The first web browser was pretty close to open source. Mosaic.

I think reading some history is in order?
