Hey guys, I will be set up at Market Hall. Don't know where yet. Stop by and see me! I have some stuff you might be interested in.

I was there today for 3 hours - didn't see you, but I bumped into one of my buddies from Iraq, an EOD specialist

Ammo was expensive, but found a Century FAL receiver for $310 with widow's-peak; passed on it, though.

I was there. I might have been walking around when you came by. I was set up at table AS5 which is in the back close to the up stairs and on the first row to the left of the front door.

It was a good show for me. I sole an AR lower and traded my M4orgery for a SIG 556.Bought an AR LULA and a Pmag with a gas gauge from Jen.

Met the only guy in the US that was a trained L1A1 armorer. Yep, he was trained at Lithgow (usually pronounced Lith-go but he pronounced it Lith-goow). He told me that there a ton of differences between the metric and the Commonwealth rifles. Now here is the interesting thing. When I walked up to his table he was the complete dumb butt on FALs. He had a display case with a couple of metric lowers and a couple of Commonwealth lowers. He professed not to know anything about either of them, they m ight be Canadian or they could be British, till I offered to identify the Commonwealth lowers, thining they were probably Aussie. He looked at me and said, "You are talking to the only man in the US that is a certified Lithgow armorer. I know the differences." I said, "Really, that's cool! So you are a FAL armorer?" "I have a piece of paper at home that says I am." "Neat!" I walked away. UH HUH!

Anyway, the show was good.

I only saw four FALers there, Randy, James and Michael64. Sorry I missed you Andy.

We REALLY need to get the Metroplex group together again.

Gunnut, If the Armorer was from Rock Springs, Wyo.

He has been making that claim as long as I have known him.

A tall skinny man not at all friendly, his young son makes the show circles alot.

But I used to buy alot on new Belgian parts from him.

Sorry I missed you to... I was on a mission though to get a G17L all worked up.

Good show altogether... lots of bargains to be had if you had cash.

That show is really becoming a turd. More and more it seems to be a group of buddies gettting a table together to shoot the shit and buy stuff from walkers. More power to them, including the Fal Files guys who do this, but they seem to dominate that show now. You end up with the Bachman Pawn circus and MGS and their Yugo SKS/CZ52s. It sucks.

I now remember why you made my ignore list.

Thanks for the slam about the "FAL GUYS". Since when was it a problem to get a table and BS with your buddies that your only get to see every so often when you try to sell something and people like you say, "Nice gun. I'll be back and never come back?" Nice to know that one of our own is so good as to slam his buddies.

So KMA A-hole. Methinks you should go to ARFCOM with the rest of the teen agers.

I quite enjoyed the show - perhaps because I was carrying my FAL (didn't want to leave it in the car) and kept getting asked how much I wanted for it.

What part of "more power to them" do you not understand? Just sayin' it's weak on the gun side sparky. Relax.

Man I know the feeling. I've carried an l1 to two differnt shows. Lots of people wanting to buy and this was way before the hoarding really got intense. I think I need to take the ze century to the next show and see what I can get. I need ammo and ak receivers :) .

I wasn't at the show because I was out at tacpro in mingus doing the akforum.net shoot. We had a two hour class by paul gomez, a class on snap shooting, they did some stuff around barricades. a 100yrd comp, giveaways and lots of food. Krebs custom had a rifle out there and donated plenty of stuff for the giveaway.

Steve moses was another instructor there. Hope some of you guys come out next year. Should be even bigger as this was the first time they've done this and it was only preplanned by a month or so. Had 55+ people. Just need 15 bucks for a range fee and you get free instruction and food pretty nice deal. (course most of us brought food to pitch in)Plenty of guns to buy too.

So while you all were eating overpriced hotdogs this is what I was doing :)

So did ya learn how to use the Tantal?

I was going to to go but I am glad I went to MH. I sold a complete Ameetec AR lower and traded my M4orgery for a SIG 556. Sold my NSP2 Polish IR scope also. I actually walked out with more money in my pocket than I had when I walked in. Can't remember the last time I did that. It really was a pretty good show.

Oh yeah. That thing is sweet. Really appreciate you lending it to me. Might wait til next paycheck to meet up with you so i'll have your money. I'm gonna start working 4 days a week instead of 2 next week also. Really hope you and james go next year. Be neat to get david out there with his toys. Only saw one guy with an nfa mp5 and another guy with an nfa ar platform he was shooting .22 through it though. It was alot of fun.

Need to hurry up and try to get a 74 kit which is why i'm selling the century. Need a couple more romy kits too. I wish I could get another krink kit too but i'm not that lucky. Romy g kits are really going up. Way faster than I saw fal kits go up.

If I go shooting after my next paycheck you could just come down to the river for a day of shooting and pick it up. Schedule pending of course. Otherwise we can just meet at a gunshow or something. But akforum guys were an awesome group. A very nice 2nd to my falfiles buddies. They had the same generosity to let people shoot their stuff and real social and full of information. Some people there were new to the platform so dave was giving them all kinds of stuff to try. And they definitely made sure everyone was fed.

The 100yard shoot was where you had 15 seconds to charge your rifle (ak's only) fire 5 shots off hand, transition to prone position and then fire 5 more shots at the target from prone. I went to a kneeling because I thought we could. I got 5 shots on paper which was kind of the norm. The winner had I think 5-6 on paper with 3 in the black in a decent group. So he'd of been dead. But most of us didn't do as good as we hoped :) . I need to start practicing that as it's REALLY fast compared to what I do normally.
I love Texas.

I missed the post before the MHall show, so I am only now responding to this. BUT HEY,... if y'all posted this a litttle earlier and some of y'all were going to get together, I would like to go and meet some more falers. I have met some from falfest ('06 I think), and it would be nice to see who yer talkin' with once in a while. At least try to remember the names of those you met last time. LOL.
