What is this 7.9 mm ammo????
I got about 900 rounds at a garage sale. The boxes are marked:
15 rds 7.9 mm cartridge for light machine gun M37 NC-05 Lot PPU 59/78 Lot MBL 86/78 very clean brass case with headstamp of nny 1975. I believe the M37 was an 8mm Italian MG. |

Sounds like Yugoslavian 8x57mm ammo for the ZB26/30 (Yugoslavian M37).

The Yugo ammo looks like the primer is set in deep, not flush with the base. The DOU will shoot the Romainian just fine. |
