I have complete Izzy furniture on my Imbel, just need an old set of wood handguards only (no metal) - for a paint project. Tried to make a HB set install on the light barrel metal guards......ugly.

They are the same (light vs HB) except for the color.

GunPartsGuy

I bought a pair as a spare for my LB handguards. The LB ones are lighter (to match the buttstock).

If your painting them it shouldn't matter.

they are indeed different in size.

I have lb handguards and hb wood. The screw holes are not even close in matching up. The hb guards are larger in diameter for sure.

Izzy HB are cut for the HB, and LB cut for the LB.

GOV.com, You sure you don't have two of the same size sets of handguards? The Isreali light barrel handguards are smaller than the heavy barrels on the metal and wood. If your handguards have cuts on the backend rib for the carry handle to fold into on the right side and forward rib on the front left side, That is a heavy barrel wood set that only fits on the HB metal. Isreali LB hand guards have no notches or cuts on the ribs for a carry handle to fold into and the metal and wood are smaller than the HB. So thiers no optical Illusion there. You need to make sure of what you have.

Someone asked about this the other day. I can say for FACT that Israeli heavy barrel wood DOES NOT fit light barrel metal, PERIOD. I have 3 sets of each and the wood WILL NOT interchange between them. I bought a set of the wood that GPG claims will work for either, IT DOES NOT WORK on light barrel metal.

I have an Izzy LB Clone and I also have a set of Izzy HB handguards. I just checked and the wood is different. I didn't take them apart, just used the Mark-One Eyeball but it appears the holes are slightly different.

Just a thought? could the HB wood (which is available) be drilled and inserts
set to accomodate the LB grill?? if the inner surface diameter fits flush??
thoughts??
