Broke My Gun
Oh, no! I broke my MAC-10! I noticed it didn't fire on semi-auto the other day when I went to the range with my Mac and my new Gemtech Viper-9. When I got home I figured it had to do with the extra fouling, but when I took it apart, I found that the selector switch broke clean in half, inside the sear!! Snapped the shaft right in half, right in the middle of the sear. Gun still worked on full auto, though. Lucky I had spares on hand.
I just filled out my Form 1 to make a full auto FAL, supposedly legal here in the 9th district court jurisdiction. Now, for CLEO signoff! |

Now, if you are a class II manufacturer making a post dealer sample, that is a different story. |

i think that the 9th circuit court of appeals has recently ruled that individuals can manufacture"homemade "machine guns without registering them or paying any taxes.the individuals must however not be manufacturing for sale or transfer and have been convicted of a felony to qualify
i kid you not.

The selector breaking is a common problem.
I have broke 2 over the years. In semi auto the sear pivots on the rod and trips the little hook on the trigger. Court in Fl. |

Dropped off papers for CLEO signoff and got my photos today...Sherrif is good about signing. We'll know if the BATFE guys approve it in about 3 months or so.

Did you send a check with your form 1 ?
It will be interesting to see if or when they deposit the check. I always tell my customers to send a personal check to cover the transfor tax, that way when you get the canceled check back you know it's in the hands of the NFA Branch. Years ago we had a dealer here in Florida who was keeping the $200.00 for himself and making his own tax stamps and putting them on your form 4's and holding them for 3 or 4 months then we would tell you you are approved and come get your gun. He did this most of the time on forms where he could not get a CLEO sign off. But sometimes he did get a CLEO sign off and those form 4's where sent to the ATF. So if you have a gun from him you don't know if it's regestered to you or not. Real Scarey $hit. Sorry, I got kind of off topic. Court in FL. |
