Thinking of getting a used Century Sporter,an older one with the thumbhole stock.Overall exc. condition with a nice bright bore,Imbel reciever and unaltered bolt carrier.I'm not really interested in building one so my thinking is these older Sporter's would be built with better part's.Anyway, they are asking $400 firm.Is that a fair price?.....Thank's for any help.....

Sounds good to me. I know of a guy that took one, built on a Hesse reciever, in trade for some old car parts.
The rifle functioned without misfire and was greatly improved upon by replacing the gas piston. Fit and feel of the rifle where also improved by adding a thumbole stock setup from DSA. As it is built on an Imbel, I'd go ahead and snag it. Will you have a chance to test fire it?

Check the ejection port side of the upper and see what receiver markings are there. If Imbel, thats a good price. My first one was an Imbel receivered, thumbhole stocked Century, it was fine other thatn getting me hooked on these things.
