American Eagle vs. Lawman vs. PMC
Question for everyone here. If you can get a case of the following case delivered at the following prices, what would you get?
American Eagle (Federal) 230g .45 ACP - $219 Lawman (Speer/CCI) 230g .45 ACP - $219 PMC 230g .45 ACP - $209 until 12/25, $219 thereafter While I know that any choice would make for quality range ammo, I am more concerend with the future reloadability of the cases. I am secondarily concerned with clean burning and hard/soft primers. |

As much as I like the 44 Mag. American Eagle ammo I have seen Federal cases fail in 45 Colt so I would rule out American Eagle. From my experance Lawman may not shoot as well as PMC. I beleive that the cases are equal for reloading. If you can find Magtec ammo it seems to shoot the best of cheaper 45 auto ammo. Using Magtec I was able to put 21 rounds into a 2 1/4 inch group at 25 yards. I have never been able to do this with any other factory ammo. This was with a stock Auto Ordance.

I would not reload the American Eagle.
All A E I have seen has a very thin web at the botom of the case. This should be used only once. This stuff should be Berdan primed to prevent reloading. |

I have had good luck with both AM eagle and PMC , never failed to go boom .
Never really tested the accuracy preciously but both always seemed ok . I don't reload so don't know about the brass possibilities . Am eagle is on sale right now at Natchez shooters supply . case price on 20 boxes is $167 . plus shipping .

For comparision:
Century has PMP One 500 rd. case = $85.00 Hotshot 500 rd Case = $65.00 Both are boxer, brass and reloadeable AFAIK add 12.50 for shipping on orders under $500

What are you shooting it in?
I have never had any problem with loading AE. I have found severial split Speer/Lawman cases. This is usually but mot limited to nickel cases. For quite some time PMC had an incorrect OAL and would not feed reliably in 1911's but glocks sigs ect. would eat the crap out of it . The later lots I have tried have worked fine. Reloading PMC is the problem for me. I have never had a proble with it but a guy I shoot IPSC with had two consecutive round that he loaded sepearate at the base leaving half of the neck in the chamber. I always try to check my PMC and only use it now for practice. I am starting to sell once fired brass and if you need some let me know (shameless plug )
