My Izzy Carbine from Entreprise Arms

First post, so if pictures don't show....sorry!

I just got my Izzy Imbel carbine, with a FSE fake muzzle brake, in all Olive Drab finish, and my $29 BSA red dot sight.

It all came out okay, and very happy......when its stops rainiing, I'll need to take it out to the range. I also have my chest rig to carry spares....just in case everyone goes crazy here in Kalifornia "if" there's an earthquake, which we dont' need now after these fires!

My only complaint, Entreprise Arms charged my credit card twice, but I'll straighten that out 1st thing on Monday.....

I'll also be spraying some extra mags in Duracote OD green...hopefully it'll match, and some others in matte black. I think the black accents look okay, any suggestions?!

To complete, put together, cost was $307.80.....of course, times 2, as they ran my card twice! But no big deal

The one thing I don't like, is that the coatings they use isn't as strong as ARS out of Arizona, or what I've read about Duracote and their coatings. It does chip, and marr.......they use a Ceramic Polymer, and undercaoted with parkarize coat. I"ll be sand blasting my mag bodies, and then apply Duracote with an airbrush directly to the bare metal (after degreasing), so hopefully they'll match. Also, when they test fired it, my muzzle brake blew off, and marred the brake....they didn't recoat, so I'll be doing that again.....as I bought a new Argy 21" barrel, and another FSE muzzle brake....which I'll have cut down, to replicate what I have, but I'll try my hand at coating it this time.

Enjoy,
Mr. Pauly from Kalifornia

PS The pistol grip isn't really attached......it was added via Photoshop, otherwise its verboten here in Kalifornia!!

On to the pictures....last one is how I keep my FAL at the ready, and as my house decoration!

Very nice. I have thought about using the G1 buttstock also to give just a little extra length to the rifle. Seems like it turned out well for you. Keep us updated.

The extra length does help, and to me, it does make it very handy.

There are quite a few urban rifle courses, so once I sign up for those, I'll see if I'll be the same happy camper that I am.

Total weight all dressed up, UNLOADED, tips the scales at 11 lbs, 12 oz. Not sure if it can justify being called a "carbine", I'd still prefer an M4 for toting around, but being in Kalifornia....that's not going to happen. I sold my Essential Arms EA-15 built (personally) CAR-15 (copied the XM177) for $490 shortly after the last/final ban on features here in Kalifornia in 2001......big regret there!

The one thing I won't buy, is the FAB-10, legal AR15. So far, FAL is about the only legal post-ban that can still be sold, but without the pistol grip...as well as the M96 expeditionary rifle, that too, without a pistol grip.

Very nice! Great Photoshopping job too.

Question: What kind of mag pouch is that and where could I find one?

Xero,

Thanks for the praise.....just trying to stay legal here in Kalifornia, and with the hopes of relocating to FL, or AZ in a few years.

The pouch, I bought them from Sportsmans Guide, here's the link:
http://www.sportsmansguide.com/cb/cb.asp?a=88968

They're advertised as stripper clip pouch, but I found that a FAL magazine fits inside.....but be sure to buy a couple, as not all are made to spec, and some pockets may be smaller, and any FAL magazine may not fit.

I know this may sound crazy, but I bought 20, as I thought it was really neat, and at a GREAT price! I have found that 1 out of 3 are out of spec.

Since I have a couple already, and can check mag fitment, I can sell you one for $10 shipped!

If you'd like to buy 20, to make sure you get a ones that fit, just click on the link above, and SG has a few coupon codes in the marketplace forum.

Mistersuzuki,
Thanks for the info and the link. I don't think I need 20 of them, but I will be sure to order a few from Sportsman's Guide.

At $7.97 for a pack of two (2), if I were you, just pick up 2 (you'll have a total of 4), that way you can be sure that a few won't be undersized.

I have yet to try them out in any urban course, but they fit very snug and firm to the body, they do not bounce around when you run....at least for me, inside my house, when I need to clear it room-by-room.

But seriously, not sure if you've ever had the chance to play with some urban wannabe's Commandos at an Airsoft Skirmish, but some of the gear those guys use, flaps around, and goes all over the place.....obeying Newton's Laws of Physics. And these are top of the line gear, but there's so much around, not even sure if its authentic, or imported knockoff's.

Get a few while they're cheap.....you'll love em.
