SKS firing pin removal?

Give a brother a hand. My new old Albanian feels like there's some serious grit or a burr on the firing pin. Can't figure out how to get it out. That cross-pin that retains the extractor spring seems to be where the magic lies but there seems to be some trick to getting that out.

Thanks,
Byron, who's ass was kicked by a rusty SKS. The shame.

Not sure about Albanians but Yugos just require the proper sized pin punch and whang 'er on out. It's a MUST that you get the firing pin out and clean it and the inside of the bolt.

When I got my Albanian SKS the firing was locked up with rust/crap. Get a punch that is the right size. In the middle of the bolt is a square on one side and round on the other, the pin is L shape. Nock that pin out. Remove the extractor by pushing in then tilt away from the bolt. Then nock the firing pin out. Clean out the firing pin hole good, or you will be going full auto. Good luck

I recognize my error now. I was just pinging on it when I should've been whanging on it. I reckon if that fails I could always whomp on it, but that would be a last resort of course.
