If you are ask to login in. email address: bowtie72@comcast.net password:falfiles Picture attached below. Thanks Bear. This is my neighbors Colt that he kept after retiring from the Navy. I checked the serial #'s and it was manufactured in 1918. He has had it wrapped in a towell stuffed under the seat of his pickup for the last 7 years. I convinced him to take it inside his house. Does anyone have a ballpark figure of the value of this 1911?

Thanks for the login info sportsnut, I was anxious to see the new pic post. Looks a little tarnished but that just adds character as long as its not corroded and still does its job.

1911 Pistol
I just sold one that was mfg. in 1915. But was in a lot nicer shape. Got $500.00 for it. That should be ball park figure.

man...
this guy I knew back in Texas stumbled onto a mint condition Colt mfg in 1915...his dad was a contractor, and they were tearing down this old house...up in the attic in a fake wall, was this 1911, still in the original packaging...it was absolutely brand new condition...he gave it to his son (the guy I knew)...and the only reason he knew what he had, was because he went shooting with us one day AND WAS SHOOTING IT!!!! when we looked at it, we about tackled him. that thing had to be worth about grand at least...it was a beautiful gun.

A friend of mine's dad had a similar experience. He found a couple of rifles behind some panaling while doing a remodel of an older home.
