I see a Izzy light barrel and fall for it. Can I or how to change my G1 to a Izzy light Barrel?
Thanks for any advice.

Depending on how close to authentic, you want to get.. Most people just purchase the Complete Stock set and handguard spacer from Gunthings.com..

You can make a G1 look like an Izzy light barrel by adding the furniture. It will not be absolutely authentic but it will give that look. One of the good things about an FAL is you can dress them up about anyway you want to. Here is my G1 with Izzy furniture.

Scout, thanks first.
Your Izzy furniture seems like brand new, doesn't it?

It all starts with the furniture.
You get that nice wood and it melts your heart. AND the handguards DON'T melt your palms like the metal G1/StGs. But, before you know it, that little voice that makes you eat a bigger piece of pie than you should begins to whisper. An Izzy F/A charging handle would look REALLY cool, and it's a US part to boot. Gotta have one. And, those Izzy selectors are nice, and with the markings on an Izzy lower, it would look more authentic. Lower and selector get swapped. Say, it's such a cheap part, why not pick up an Izzy mag release, help round out the conversion. Mag release changed out. NOW it gets serious. That G1 bolt carrier has the notch you put in it to work with the F/A charging handle, but it just isn't AUTHENTIC. Man, you need a true Izzy carrier with the sand cuts. Plus it occurred to you that an Izzy gas block with the Hebrew markings would match the lower, hell let's just get the whole Izzy barrel... great, that means a swap to an Izzy rear sight to match the higher front sight line. Oh wait, did you see that HB kit on Ebay...?? --Radio

My plan is to take the 2 kits I have (1- G-1, and 1- Chilian Imbel) and make a izzy lb by using the G-1 lower and metric Chilian upper. Then I'm going to take the G-1 upper and Chilian lower and make a poormans STG 58.
