I don't know why he was selling it, but Robert let this "cherry" StG58 kit go for about the price of the "very good" kits now being sold by FAC and DSA. I do know a good StG kit when I see one, and this one is sweet!
I also know good service. This kit was carefully and securely packed. It arrived in near perfect condition - even better than described. I would gladly recommend garr02 (Robert) to anyone. The kit is #98xxx; It is not an arsenal refinish, and the original finish is 99%+. There is no visible finish wear on the bolt and only trace wear on the carrier rails. The barrel and chamber are pristine. There are no marks on the type 1 lower from the rat-tail. It shows only minor handling marks on the stock, handguards and dust cover. It has a full length gas tube. There is a number painted on the bottom of the lower - perhaps a rack number. The rifle appears to be virtually unfired. And then there is the bonus that Robert added (on top of all the original parts which included a sling and a mag)... New and unused:
Robert had this listed on ebay but found no takers. I really don't know why.
