Anyone know of a good gunsmith to mill out a single stack AK to take hi caps?

That's a dremel and file op, if there ever was one.

There isn't much on the AK boards either, but all you have to do is take the measurement on a tight fitting AK mag and make your openning slightly smaller, filing until fit. The shape of the hole is correct it just has to be extended out, it really is a simple job. I assume your talking about one of the SLR receivers? If you plan on using a military stock to you will need a lower tang installed on the rear of the receiver(difficultly of this varies with how your receiver was machined). Let me know if you have any questions I might be able to provide more info your looking for.

The last few nights I've looked over AK47.net and the AK boards at AR15.com, didn't find anything.

It's an Arsenal SLR 101. I haven't got it yet, but they come in three config's
1) thumbhole w/ single stack
2) american pistol grip set up, w/ single stack
3) p.g. w/ double stack

I got the second one, it's about 70$ more than the first, but I won't have to buy the furniture or add the strut. The double stack one was $140 more though, so I figured I'd give the gun a shoot, then either give it a try myself or I could have someone do it.

Thanks for the help.

It's isn't hard, just takes sometime, if you have or want to buy yourself a cheap drill press and the proper bits and you can do a really nice job cheap. Or you can go the old dremil and file method also works. Just take a magazine and use it as your template, the mag cutout is the same just narrower than you need. You also know you will need a regular bolt, at the single stack versions uses a bolt made just for that application. Just give you a heads up.

I've got a little sketch here somewhere if you want to try to do it yourself.
