Has anyone ordered from them? I want to order a kit in the next couple of weeks and as always money is an issue. Feedback on other sources would be appreciated as well.

I talked to the FAL guy at Sarco a couple of weeks ago.. their para kits (agentine) are all sold out. These were the ones selling for $350, right?
They still have Argentine kits, but I was told they are saving them for a "project" and don't have any for sale at this time. |

Project, eh? Maybe they are gonna hold on to them for a year and see if the AW ban sunsets. Could be a buying frenzy if the masses are free at last ('cept for '89 import ban, and '86 machine gun ban, and '68 GCA, and '34 NFA).

(Shameless plug for Mark to follow....)
Attached is the pic of my first ever FAL build. I was planning to post a build report (and I probably still will), but I figured I had to throw into this discussion. Mark was great to deal with and, while not cheap, you can see that his Para kits are in primo condition. I haven't done a thing to mine. The barrel is off of a Dan's GIII, so it's ugly, but the rest of the gun is MINT! I'm looking forward to seeing what his Para barrels look like when they come in (if?...sorry Mark, but it's been a long time coming!). I have to throw in two things...Thanks IMMENSELY to Bunkerbob for his help with the build. And I built on a Coonan...Zero problems. Tim |

(Shameless plug for Mark to follow....) # Dos:
Here is another Argy Para from FWRA. The handgaurds were toutched up with Aluma-Hyde and the Upper & Front End stuff got a dose of Gun Kote on top of the factory park. The lower and stock are the original finish.

Yah, I was gonna warn everyone about the carpet in my post, but I figured it adds some character to the picture.
Once I get everything re-finished (barrel and receiver) I'll take another pic on a little less, uh, psychadelic surface! But seriously, the Para kits are excellent. I've added more finish wear to mine fondling and assembling it than it had when I got it. Tim |

Thank you so far for the replies.
I am considering ordering one of FWRA's kits as soon as I collect a bit more "folding $$" Has anyone ordered one of the $450 kits? The question I have is how bad is the lock up wobble? I plan on salting away this kit and having a legal folder after 9/04 if everything goes right. The finish issue really isn't a big deal with me. I like some of my "tools" to show wear, then I don't have to feel bad when I scratch it myself. BTW, I have an STG excellent kit from Jeff and a grade III Dan's that are sitting in boxes. Compliance parts, etc. No assembled FAL yet, but keep looking for more kits. Have never even fired an FAL, only fondled at shops. I even have CR rifles that I haven't been able to have fun with yet. I need psychiatric help-obsessive compulsive! My wife is beginning to wonder about my reasoning

This 'was' a $450 Refinishers special. I don't have a before photo unfortunately. I do a little refinishing every now and again (and to those of you that have my Park jobs--you know I do a decent job)--so making it look this good was not tough.
Get it from Mark (FWRA). You won't have to wait weeks for it as he ships immediately--not like Sarco.

Truck bed liner--Duplicolor, I think. I hold the can about 16-18" awa from the work and it leaves a 'comfortable' pattern. Not too rough, but rough enough to hold up well and not feel like you are gripping boulders.

Oh--and about the wobble--mine was not a problem at all. And I know it was not a 'special pick' either. It was a nice kit to do. It shoots well too.
I bought a barrel from one of the guys here on the board already cut and the EAI muzzle brake silvered on. It has FSE HST from Moses, a US PG from Mark, a Tapco US Gas Piston and charging handle to make it OK, and the folder has "SNIFF" been neutered.

Come to think of it, there was ONE thing about my kit I was kinda 'disappointed' in originally. But it worked out well. It seems my rifle was named--it's name is Xavier. At least, that was the former owner's name scribed into the handguard. The truck bedliner covered it up but the moniker 'stuck'.

Wow!
Thanks for the stunning Argentine para build pictures gang. Amazing talent here in Fal Files,USA. Turns out these Argentine folders were 50.64's as police issue machine guns. How do I know that? Well ya just might have to check out Marketplace to see. ![]() And those copper's sure didn't shoot 'em much.... ![]() Thanks to all of you who posted here with the kind words concerning my "non-Sarcoesque" shipping. This ones for you. ![]() Yep, they are saving them for a special project........ They know they can't compete with next day shipping and 100% satisfaction guarantees. Well they COULD if they really wanted to do some business. ![]() However, I'm not really worried about that. And Rickett's does do phenominal Parkerizing. Ask me how I know. ![]() (OH! And click on the link in my signature line below for a rare shot of "MiniMark") I know....I'm crazy as Hell and proud of it!FWRA
