Argentine Chrome-Lined from CDNN Investments
Got one as a replacement for my shot-out G1 kit barrel.
Soft parkerizing, almost matte blue looking. Pristine, perfect, new. Chrome lined from chamber to muzzle. Threaded muzzle and open-ear sight gas block. Very, very pleased. $70, get 'em while they're hot! www.cdnninvestments.com |

Mine is more of a soft zinc park grey, with some fairly rough machining marks on the gas block and ears. Bore and chamber, however, are nice and crisp. A really good deal for $70, even with the necessity for some WECSOGing to remove the machining marks.

CDNN is a great company. Everything I have ever bought from them was exactly what they said it was, or better. I wish I could say the same for some others I have dealt with. In any case, I think it is hard to go wrong with CDNN.

As I understand it, these aren't right for the Argentine para kits sold by FWRA, correct? The front sites come out too high?

For a regular metric kit, the front sight is high. I can't say whether it would shake out that way for a para kit or not.
I put one on my tired R1 kit, had to get an israeli spec front sight ('cause the regular metric one won't work), and a tall inch pattern rear sight so everything would line up. It is cool having the flip up rear sight, though. ~Doug |

I plan to remove the gas block and just use my G1 gas block, since this will be for building a Stg58 repligun.

I'll let you know when I build. But the Argentines built military FAL rifles under license and with technical support from FN Herstal, so I suspect, they're good.

I want to order one. I was wondering if the open ear gas block is inch and if that would make a difference on a metric gas system?

The Argentine barrels have open ears on the gas block, but they're metric barrels. The front sight post is the same as an Israeli. DSA has them. You'll need to fit an L1A1 rear sight to the lower.

This is an outstanding barrel. I got one while DSA had them, and the price is comming down. Last Friday I put 20 rounds into 3.5" at 100yds as fast as I could get back on target.

Just got my new argy barrel today. Outstanding service from CDNN, very fast shipping, 3-4 days from the day I ordered it. Great price and the barrel is pristine. The machine work is smoother and better than the Imbel kit barrel that it's replacing. Nice chrome from breech to muzzle. The park is a PERFECT match finish for the new Imbel GL receiver that I also picked up today. The barrel comes with the open eared gas block and bipod cuts. This barrel is definitely a good deal.
Now I just have to figure out if I need to swap out gas blocks. I'll post this on another thread but if anyone see's this and knows the answer please PM/email me. I have a brand new para lower with the 150/250 flip sight. Anyone know if this sight is compatible with the front sight on the argy barrel? |

Got mine today from CDNN. Pretty much like the others - barrel nicely machined with some small tool marks on the gas block, nice dark park finish and a nice chrome bore and chamber. The finish on the chamber was better than closed ear Argy barrel I got from DSA a while back but still not smooth polished like an Imbel or FN. All the Argy barrels I have seen, even those off production rifles, have chambers that look like they were finished with a rough circumferential hone pattern, so it must not be a defect.
Is it possible they do this intentionally to aid in extraction of the fired case? Overall this is pricewise the best deal on barrels I have seen. I may have to get one more before they run out. By the way I ordered over the internet and took delivery in 3 working days. Good service. |

I got my Argentine barrel today from CDNN. Fast service and it looks great. I bought a kit from Ebay for a future build, so this was a nice addition to my parts stash. All I need to do now if find a Gear Logo Imbel receiver.

I bought two of these barrels, they showed up on Thursday.
What beauties they are! Mirror bright chrome bore, flawless Park finish. Absolutley brand spankin' new, both inside and out. Now I need a couple more parts kits with crappy barrels... FJ

These are indeed great barrels. If you want to build an Izzy clone they are about perfect for that. I built up my Izzy clone on one and it shoots great. Best groups so far are running in the inch and a half range, prone 100 meters. No problem keeping hits on a typing paper all the way to 300.
The Stg. breaks don't work on them without relieving the back a bit. Different taper to the barrel. Of coure they do require the Izzy front sight and spring, available from Gunthings, and an Inch or Izzy rear sight. Metric rear would be too short. The faux Browning flash hider from DSA fits great, as does the short style one. |

Has anyone replaced the open ear gas block on the Argentine barrel with a closed ear styled block so that the Izzy sights don't have to be used? I was thinking about replacing the gas block on mine instead of using the open ear block.

Bob, the gas blocks can be changed. Do a search, there's lots of info on gas block removal/installation.
My barrel is here too, and it is indeed SWEET. What a great deal for such a nice barrel, these things are new, new, new in wrap. Bright beautiful chrome-lining and perfect unblemished parkerizing. I was a little worried when I read about the above-mentioned tool marks, but they were no big deal, tiny and probably just a remnant of pressing the gas block on at the factory. They're not marks in the finish, but in the metal, ie: underneath that beautiful finish. |

I found a closed ear gas block today, so now all I need to do now is figure out what kind of muzzle device to have put on my barrel. I was thinking of having a Moses brake put on or maybe one of the FSE brakes. Any suggestions?
