First thing to do is measure and photograph all your fire control parts and post all the details here, for, uh, "scientific purposes"...

Actually, check your FSE parts and see if they have a small number on them. This was a common occurence some months ago with FSE parts. (Do aq searh in the gunsmithing section) If I were you I'd contact FSE and arrange to have your parts swapped out for the later vintage, which fixes the problem. They cheerfully swapped about four sets for me. Great guys to deal with!

Your sear spring is probably a bit light. Pick up a replacement spring set. If you replace the sear spring, you'll probably have to replace the trigger return spring along with it. Their weights are balanced.

Sorry to disappoint, but the point at which an FAL will do this is a very small zone. A smidge too heavy and it works as usual. A smidge lighter and it will only function as a bolt action. The general weakening of the springs is likely to send it into the latter mode within the next 200 rounds.

take off your pistol grip and check your trigger plunger tabs for damage.
I had one that was cracked but the pistol grip was holding the damaged tab
in place.......it started out with double tapin then triple then four or five at a
time. i changed lowers till i get a chance to weld the tab back on.
also for a easy cheq swap out your hammer with an origanal just to see if you need to dremol the us one........good luck

In some circles, doubling is a GOOD thing!
