tapco izzy carrier question

has anybody else that has gotten these had problems with them being snug? i have an imbel receiver and the imbel carrier that came with my kit functioned perfectly. the tapco one binds in the middle of it's range of travel.

should i just do some light filing on the rails?

This is not what you really want to hear but, I saw a bran-spankin new one once and I knew it wasn't going to work, I could see it was warped without trying it in a reciever. (It wouldn't even go in half way when we finally tried it) Send it back, for what you paid for the darn thing it should work flawlessly without any work on your part. I suggest a modified carrier from www.gunthings.com Less than half the price and not warped. (Modified Belgin carriers with forward assist cuts) Look in the Izzy section.

i completely agree with you that you shouldn't have to do anything to these when they come considering the price!

i did check it out pretty good and it doesn't appear to be warped or anything. it just looks like in a couple of spots they didn't machine it as well as they should have. it is going to be parked anyway and i do want it for a u.s. part so i think i'll probably just touch up the rough spots with some light filing.

i'll tell you the one thing that i was unhappy about was the fact that the press their damn weba address in everything. i'm happy to have a little "us" stamped on there for compliance reasons, but hell, if they are gonna advertise all over my part then they should be paying me -- not me paying them!

Price shouldn't be an issue. Regardless of the vendor. If it doesn't do what it's advertised to do...send it back. Make THEM fix or replace it. Does it say anywhere in the ad..."May be warped"..."May not work"..."Requires fitting"? I think not. Call Buddy, Bill, or Jon...tell 'em it ain't right. They'll make it right.
