STG-58 Mag Question

Probably a newbe question but... will mags for the STG-58 work in a Imbel FAL? If so, how do they differ?

if you have a metric receiver. all metric magazines will work, regarless of what country: brazil, belgium,austria,argentina, israel, germany etc.. now if you have a inch receiver, the metric magazines will work but a little loose... a inch magazine will not, again: will not work on a metric receiver. my 2 cents. javier

You won't have a problem with StG-58 (Austrian) mags in your Imbel receiver. Both are metric.

There are two disctinct differences between IMBEL mags and Steyr ( STG) mags. The Steyr mags are parkerized and have small holes in the backstrap. The IMBEL mags are painted. Both are metric and will interchange.

Thank you all for the quick answers- I'm having my Imbel park finished so I wanted to use the STG-58 mags but wasn't sure if they would need a dremel tool mod or what. Hope to be punching holes in paper by month end.
