Gas tube question
The gas tube that came with my G1 kit has two slots cut through the threads and when I screw it in and line one of the slots up with the little pin hole on the side of the gas block the other slot lines up witha hole milled in the top of the gas block under the adjusting nut . That looks funky to me is that supposed to do that or should I trash it and buy a new tube?

Dude, that's where the gas passes- so to speak.
Only one slot will be used, it allows excess gas to vent thorugh the gas regulator hole in the top of the gas block. Hence the nature of your adjustable gas system. Two opposing slots is probably easier to manafacture, but also allows to screw the tube in a half turn more as things erode and wear. HTH.

Ok that sounds like it would fly. So I got to make sure that they line up before I pin the tube Right.

The correct method of installing the tube is to screw it in until it bottoms, then back it off (ideally) a half-turn before you install the retaining pin. If you try to use it with the tube bottomed-out (assuming you can get the pin in) it will probably malfunction when the gas block gets hot.
If you look through the retaining pin hole while you are screwing the tube in, you can see where the flats allow clearance. If you force the pin into place without first aligning one of the flats, you may cause a dimple in the gas tube, which will almost certainly cause the rifle to malfunction. Your gas tube threads should look like this.
