recoil buffer, bho and carrier position observation...
I have noticed that when the bolt reaches position to engage the bho, the carrier still lacks a little over 1/4" to impact the lower receiver.....well short of contact with the recoil buffer,
since I have never had problems with a recoil buffer on 4 FALs, I will continue to use them during casual shooting to protect from an occasional overdose of gas......In a shtf situation I would toss the thing to eliminate the any possibility of a malfunction caused by the thing coming apart or??? , orca

I agree with ya. I only have one buffer in a FAL, but I have them in other guns, such as my .308 Galil, to tame the recoil.
As long as the rifle functions, what the hell? That being said, all my buffers have come through gun deals and the only one I bought was the Galil one. Didn't want to beat up that rifle.
