Inter Ordnance Excellent G1 Kits

I am probably the only Jerk in the place that thought there was an ounce of decency inside most of Humanity. Well! I was wrong! Mark it down! Put an X on the calendar! Humanity is Raw! And Inter Ordnance is not Human!
I have never seen a kit that was dirty, grungy sandy and greasy, and yet still dipped 'Whole', 'Complete', 'Fully Assembled', deep into a Tub of Bluing solution! My mind was not capable of thinking in this direction. I know a lot of intelligent people here warned of exactly this senario. But I was a fool! I took a chance and ouch!!
After they Blued the non matching upper and lower assembles, they Parked the misc. parts for the upper receiver and the G1 flash hider thingy. But it does get better because they even left both the charging handles 'as is' with 0% finish because they would have had to disassemble them, for they have aluminum knobs.
The good parts of this disaster, is that for $249.00 ea. of two butt woopins, I did receive 4 new mags with each set and pretty good new sets of Century hand guards and probably the stock and butt pad also. The bores are excellent and have strong rifling, The lowers and internals look excellent, Surprise Surprise. And I do have the privilege of spending yet another 60 or so bucks on re-park jobs to end up with pretty good kits.
I have now entered the ranks of recommending Kits from DSA, Tapco, Gunthings, Dans, anyplace but INTER ORDNANCE! [ If you have any of these on order I would cancel it Quick!]
Shoot Happy!

I would ship that back in a heart beat. Order the 2frs from TAPCO. Everything works and looks good on them. Mine need to be reparked but the money I saved on the 2 kits its no problem to pay a little to have them parked.

2 kits $199.00 happy
or
1 kit $249.00 not happy
hhhhhmmmmmm

What was your first clue?

MY first clue was that Interordnance sells Hesse rifles! How could anybody do that not give away their true colors?

gw11......you had the right idea because you did not try to build just one. Knowone can build just one. Good luck and ask questions in this place before you part with a $. These guys will really tell you like it is. You can also do searches on just about any fal subject.

Thanks for the suggestions! But! Mine was not a lack of listening, nor the lack of knowing where to find something, it was just plain being stuborn and stupid!
After adding up the $50.00 restocking fee on each kit, I will probably build one and sell the other as parts. They really are very good kits! Although they are in no way Excellent Condition nor "As New" as advertized.

gw11,
I could use one of the G1 barrels, if you are going to sell it off!

Thanks,

MK

Well, hmmm.. I'm not really intending this as an insult, I've dealt with I-O myself and "feel your pain," but I think you're doubly stupid.

First, you've been around here long enough to know about I-O. The days of those excellent (oh yeah, REALLY excellent) StG kits ended a few years ago. Since then, I-O's reputation has been clearly and loudly trumpeted on this board. I know you know this and have already excoriated yourself for your folly.

But certainly you must realize, 14 months after their release, THERE ARE NO "EXCELLENT" G1 KITS! Never have been! "As New"??? RIDICULOUS! ARE YOU ON DRUGS?? These are over 40 years old and have been thrashed by ignorant conscripts of a third-world "army" that don't even know better than to not crap in their own drinking water! (Line by GP) Worse, you paid $250 for a G1 kit (never mind the cool accessories included) with all the others on the market for $99, or $129... that's just CRAZY!! Don't you LIKE your money???

No, sir, I hesitate to say it but you are triply stupid. You got great bores with "strong rifling" and parts in great condition that "look excellent". What's the problem? Where's the hose job? Kits from TAPCO or FAC aren't even refinished, just lots of bare metal... at least I-O gave you more than that! Even if done poorly! Almost all of us refinish our builds anyway, except for those truly ugly and somehow loveable R1 truck guns complete with bad, incomplete camo.

I thrash you so severely here, in hopes of helping others avoid the same mistakes later. And anyway, you started it...

No sweat, gw, you did as good as you could. You were brave to send I-O any money on their promise, and if you hadn't, some newboy would have and we might not have heard this whole saga. Thanks for the scoop.
The last I-O scam was as new Imbel kits, but they turned out to be grade II with a set of new Centurdy stocks. On the same ad, they listed Imbel butt, pad, pistol grip and handguards for $15. I bought 10, a couple were non-bipod, some were damaged, which I returned and they replaced some, but it was a hell of a deal.
Now they list an STG lower for $70, which sounds good but I need a brave soul like yourself to order some to see what it's about.
And then there was the time I ordered an as new L1A1 and a best ever imported STG for $250 each, but they never came, and I waited for 7 months before figuring it out.
So, I got my money back, and now I'll never order anything from them 'til they have something cool that I want.
Your cash ain't nuthin' but trash.

If you paid by credit card I would refuse to pay the charge for the kit. They didn't live up to their end of the deal.

I do things that I feel like doing! I don't personally care about this buy. And I certainly had no need to report it here. But I did! Every purchase is a gamble. I just wish I could have been as smart as Radio. But is anyone?

After completely disassembling these kits, Both are in the same condition. And if I were to compare them to any of the Dan's Grade 1 kits I have, I am forced to say that other than being Non Matching and not haveing the Furniture to place in the garbage, these are mechanically in the same condition.
If I minus the the four New mags, Two new Mag Pouch's and the New Century Furniture set of Hand guard Stock and Pistol Grip, I probably end up with Two $125.00- $150.00 or less sets of Very Good to Excellent replacement parts, That may need some refinishing.
Would I do it all again? Not likely!

The only time I would ever buy anything from IO is if I can see what I am buying first, and I can swab out the bore. I also got a crappy STG kit about 2 years ago, with a rusty bore and I sent it right back for my credit. They are BAD!!!

gw11,

Thank you for being the designated "food taster" for "Inter-Ordnance catering." It's very educational and helpful to us all, as we watch you keel over.

Gotta tease ya a little. But it sounds like you didn't do too badly, gw11, maybe not as full kits, but as parts.

It's a shame for IO to have mechanically decent kits and then treat them like that.

When you roll around in it long enough, it don't stink no more!
If I can get by the Century furniture, or get rid of it. And I get around to assembling at least one of thes kits, I'm pretty sure I'll be satisfied.
We'll see!
