Can an L1A1 safety be fitted to a Metric reciever?

The one on my L1A1 is much more ergonomic than the one on my G-1..........Have any of you just cut off the thumbpiece of an L1A1 and welded it to the metric insides?...........Thanks.........Bob

You don't need to do all that.

30 seconds with a hammer and a screwdriver is all you need.

See the bash the pin method.

A non-WECSOG method (sorry, Mr. Jeter) is to buy an "extended shooter safety" from DSA for $29.95. Essentially a semi-auto metric selector with the inch-pattern thumbpiece - I've replaced the one on my Imbel M-444 and it works very well.

Poor screwdriver! Abuse! You mean a hammer and a small chisel.

Or just DREMEL off the long tab on the Inch safety that gets in your way. BRRRREEEEEEEEEE!!
