Which U.S. made lower parts set?
Cost is a concern here - Anyone make a DECENT set for a reasonable price?

Allow me to establish some context. Here's how I'd have answered a couple of years ago:
"Order a DSA set for $90, and be glad for the opportunity to pay it. They're the only game in town if you want anything resembling quality. Of course, I've been waiting four weeks for my backordered set. They must be using all current production for building rifles. Or you could buy a Hesse or Century set that might work with a lot of messing around, though they only cost about $50." Now back to present day: Order an FSE set for around $50. They've had some past problems but they've been addressed. And Harold Shinn stands behind his stuff with an iron clad guarantee. Good stuff. Byron |

I have been very happy with the quality and value of the FSE set. I use them now in all of my rifles and even offer them for resale ($50, inch or metric). 100% no-bull$hit warranty.

FSE!!! The DSA t/h/s that I bought was so rough and gritty that it made the rifle feel like it had a 30lb trigger pull. FSE t/h/s is nice, smooth, stamped USA and half the price and 10x the quality of DSA! Should be a no brainer.

See how you get to benefit from the changing FAL market. Okay, so you can't get those excellent StG kits for $200 anymore, but here's an example of how market demand and competition can favor the buyer.
I watched $90 leave my wallet for DSA several times. Never once thought my trigger action was "rough" or "gritty". --Radio

I concur with ByronF and Radio. Both sets I have ordered from DS ARMS have been pristine. A little pricy but I sleep at night.

Well, I'm not sure if you agree with me or not. I bought a DSA set when they were the only game in town. I've since bought an FSE set. The FSE set feels much better to me. I sleep at night too.

I thought my DSA set was great..... UNTIL I started using the FSE sets.
The DSA are cast, they can be cleaned up some, but exhibit nowhere near the precision and smoothness of the FSE parts. Sleep at night? I'm not sure why that's an issue.
