Is this true, people in Oregon incapable of pumping their own gas?

If this is not a joke, funny news story, then the people in Oregon are truly lost!

http://dailycaller.com/2017/12/31/pe...m_medium=email

If true, it would answer a lot of questions I've had about certain folks.

How dare ask me to pump my on gas!!!!

Since 1951, no self serve gas in Oregon.

Pumping your own diesel was legal, though.

Cardlock systems did not fall under this law.

Get over it.

Quotes from the article;

“I don’t even know HOW to pump gas and I am 62, native Oregonian…..I say NO THANKS! I don’t want to smell like gasoline!” one woman wrote.

“It’s official. Oregon is full of mentally defective, full grown children, incapable of the most mundane of adult task,” wrote one person.

Not much more to be said

So many snowflakes in this state melting down because self service is now allowed at night in sparsely populated counties.

I wonder if these idiots ever travel outside the state and what they do at a self-service station???

I much prefer pumping my own and one of the things that have always driven me nuts about Oregon.

Newjerkistan has never had self serve gas stations in my lifetime. Labor laws and such were what I was always told. Only on Fort dix did I ever see a self serve gas station...it was federal that's why.

Diesel? really? I remember the truck stop in Bend had a bunch of Cute girls pumping Diesel in the early 80's. They screamed at you if you touched the pump. I almost became a citizen of Bend at that time... but she turned out to be a bit Psycho.

Yeah, and even in New Jersey the people there are too stupid to know how to pump gas. That is what "liberalism" does to the human brain.

One day look up the "material safety data sheet" MSDS on gasoline and realize all you big strong gas pumpers have been suckling in highly carcinogenic fumes from gasoline. You handle a pump handle that's been handle by sick people and unless you wash your hands you rub the filth on your steering wheel. Have a fry while you drive and realize the last guy to use that pump handle just held his dick taking a leak.

Not pumping your own gas here is an advantage in that it keeps your family more healthy. Oh and that comment that us folks from Oregon are stupid, pick your nose and think about where your fingers have been second hand.

I found it odd that I couldn't pump my own gas when I visited there last year. A couple times I climbed out and started to pump my own and an attendant let me know politely, that he needed to do the pumping for gasoline.

Diesel, you can pump your own though.

The gas thing is one of the many reasons that Oregon sucks. Don't worry, they can't drive worth a sh1t either, and they'll show you that as soon as they get on the road in your state. The three biggest indicators that I'm dealing with a complete f*ckknuckle are: 1) Oregon plates, 2) Canadian plates, or 3) they're driving a Stupiddouche. Combine #3 with one of the others for even more f*ckery. (PS: Washington drivers are no better. They have a major thing against the speed limit. They're always either doing 20 under, or 20 over. Regardless of road conditions, time of day, etc. They just *usually* not AS BIG of a$$holes as Oregomers are).

My truck can go somewhere around 700 miles on a tank of gas, but if I'm working in western Washington I make sure I stop in the Tri-Cities for fuel so that there's absolutely no need to stop anywhere in Oregon (I prefer driving across the top of Oregon and avoiding central WA, Snoqualmie Pass, and everything in the Seattle area). And on the way back, same thing, I'll fill up somewhere near Kelso or Vancouver and again around Post Falls (which is usually the cheapest gas within four or five hundred miles).

The first time one of those mouth-breathing Oregomer gas pumpers came up to put fuel in my tank and just stood there looking at me with that vacant, slack-jawed expression, he just about got knocked out. I thought he was about to try to mug me (I don't even know which podunk one-Gomer town I was in, it was dark and somewhere in NE Oregon, where I'd never been before), so I was ready to fight. It absolutely floored me when he told me that it was against the law to pump your own gas in that sh1thole state.

Ralph was in his early 50s when he died of cancer caused by his bad handling of diesel fuel. He used it as a release agent on his work boots to keep asphalt from sticking to them. Got cancer in his feet and left a fine looking wife behind to spend his money.

Bud of Buds Gas for Less wasn't fifty when he died of cancer from petrolem. I was working at the station when he died and as the wife sold it out she told me he went through hell on the way out.

See we don't have splash guards on the nozzles here so once the tank is open you get a good dose of benzene up your nose. Fuel is a killer and you never know who is most apt to die from being around it. However your wife and kids pump their own.

As far as the law that forbids customers from pumping their own gas in Oregon, IIRC, it's been that way since before I started driving in 1971. The people that voted for those politicians are now ancient and the politicians themselves are probably dead.
You guys that keep dissing on Oregon because the current newsmakers in Portland are a bunch of losers really need to look at your own situation, and then suck lemons. Get over it and get a life. Oregon rocks, the current politicians in power be damned.
You're a bunch of over opinionated fucktards.
This is a non issue.
Oh, by the way, if you don't want to have someone pump your gas for you, stay out of Oregon. It doesn't want you anyway.
We didn't want the Californians that started coming up in the 70s that have fucged it up to begin with.

We don't NEED someone else to pump our gas. It's just the way it is.

Should we also insist on cooking our own food and doing our own dishes when we go to a restaurant?

How many snowbirds from Oregon does it take to fill up a gas tank in Arizona?

None.

Once they drive into Arizona, them suckers never leave!

Damn, now I know why.

Hey Ethel, what that owners manual say, find the little round cap and stick what in it again?????
And how in the hell do those kids back home get the fuel out of this hose thingy???

Whether you do it yourself or let someone else do it for you, according to the local law.

There are several things that I don't do for myself, including pumping gas when I'm in Oregon. I don't feel bad about it at all.

Station I frequently go to has a good looking chick pumping gas. You guys that pump your own er ah gas that is, grab a handle used by a 100 other pumpers that there is no telling what they touched just before. Was it a illegal that just took a dump in the bushes and never washed his hands? Was it a queers who just jacked off his aids filled buddy on the way to the clinic?

Ya we pay to have our gas pumped by others, we sit in a nice warm rig when it rains and is cold as hell. I like it when ya'll call us stupid, remember it in the next blizzard ya'll get. Think about it every time you eat with your fingers or touch your face.

Oregon, where subguns are water cooled and we pay to have our fuel pumped.

Jim, the funny thing is that I don't think it costs any more in Oregon than it does in Washington where we pump our own gas.

So if that is correct, then everybody in all the pump your own gas states are overpaying for the privilege of do it yourself.

After all, pumping your own gas is quite a skill set, and privilege.

By God I know ed they be college edumacated for something. Folks here in Oregon figure it's smarter to have our gas pumped for us so it's funny to hear the self pumpers tell us how smart they are. I guess when you don't know any better it looks dumb to have other folks pump your gas. This being thought of as stupid feels kinda good.

If the door isn't auto mated I never grab the handle, I use my arm on the glass. Here in oregon we use toilet paper to wipe our butt and the public toilets have sensors that flush. You rough and tuff folks probably still use a thunder mug.

Many times as I pumped #2 diesel into my tractor at the Flying J in Troutdale, Oregon I found myself staring at the auto gas pumps and the attendants scrambling from car to car in an attempt to piss off as few waiting customers as possible.

I pumped gasoline at a full service station, there was no self service then, while I was in high school. Funny but I don't seem to have suffered any ill effects from it. Of course I had the good sense not to put my face in close proximity to the pump nozzles or filler tubes of the autos.

As far as picking up contamination from other people on pump handles I think you have a better chance of getting VD from a toilet seat. Did you know if you leave your tooth brush in a holder above the sink in the bathroom vapors from flushing the toilet will contaminate it with feces and urine? Its far more likely then being contaminated from a gas pump handle. You just have to draw the line somewhere I guess.

I was born and raised in Oregon. I don't live there anymore.

The clever Japanese have invented a toilet seat that washes and then dries your ass for you.

And as a matter of fact, most of the good people of Oregon now have a Toyo toilet seat that cleans their ass for them.

It is a very enlightened place when it comes to proper plumbing and ass cleaning.

It was touched by someone during shipping and handling tho, who possibly used self serve gas stations.

I travel some in states you pump your own gas and used a paper towel to hold the nozzle then threw the towel away after getting gas. Last time though I had a 100 gallon l tank in the back and never had to use self service. Staying healthy so far has worked out well, at 65 I take no medication, no flu shots and can't remember the last cold I had. Plus it's part of survival, if they ever want to spread a disease where better than self service stations.

Call me stupid, I wear it as a healthy badge of honor.

Do you use paper towels when you go buy a rifel?

You should watch how factory ammo is made sometime so you can realize how little human hands touch it.

Somebody may have touched the box putting it on the shelf. You should get a hazmat uniform.

Yep, got yelled at first time I attempted to fuel up in Oregon and was happy to let the girl do it, but also got chastised when I tried to pay sales tax at Bi-Mart.

There are some hardcore realists here with regard to personal hygiene, lol.
I've known a few people who would not eat in a restaurant, period.
They were pretty uptight...

I'm slightly germophobic myself and manage to stay pretty healthy.

She's squeezing patties in her room again!

Not pumping your own gas here is an advantage in that it keeps your family more healthy. Oh and that comment that us folks from Oregon are stupid, pick your nose and think about where your fingers have been second hand.
Doesn't the fuel I just spilled all over my hands sterilize the pump handle?

I noticed they go thru employees a lot at Michigan's self serve gas stations. The former employees all died,eh?

Just curious - why does anyone give a crap who pumps gas in Oregon?

If the good citizens of Oregon want it that way, so be it. Good grief, if the Feds were forcing them to do it, folks would be shouting "State's Rights!".

I like it here in Oklahoma - we pump our own gas, right now at 2.14 a gallon.

Honestly I worked as an equipment operator for a company that had contracts with a local rare metals outfit. They wanted to train a contractor and employees how to clean up a spill while wearing a hazmat suit. Hazmat team #5 spent many hours training us how to stay alive and part of that was cleaning up after contamination. Most folks have no idea what is dangerous around the house or in the truck next to you on the freeway, can you read the placard on a truck? How many ways can gasoline kill you ?
