Stoner 63 Documentary: The Stoner Machine Gun: A Navy Seal Remembers
Dug out an old video on the Stoner 63 from the 1990's. So I converted it and put it up on a the Arms of the 80's blog. The documentary is an interview with Retired LT. CME. Michael J. Walsh about Stoner 63 weapons system used with by the Navy Seals in Vietnam. The video shows an impressive firepower demo of the Stoner 63 in a few of it's different configurations. While there is a wide range of information about the Stoner 63 available, this video chronicles the development of the weapons system throughout part of the Vietnam war through the eyes of LT. Walsh. The video covers the developments made by Cadillac Gauge for the weapon, the development of the "dead man's pin" and various ammunition feeding systems. It is a great watch.

Thanks!
Really makes ya think: Had this weapons system been given the funding and testing to mature further, we could have avoided the SAW program that came a decade later and probably would have ended up with a weapon that was at least comparable- if not superior- to the M249.

Thanks for posting that Vid. Back in the Day when I was a kid in the late 60's I would read about this rifles performance in Vietnam. I wanted to own one ever since and seeing I can't afford an original (over 100K) I picked up the Robinson Stoner clone M96.
![]() One fun rifle to shoot.

A gentleman out of Texas offered to sell me his 15 years ago for $29k. A transferable gun on one of Reed Knight's registered receivers. I was in college at the time so it might as well have been $100k.
