Can a DAK Sig be converted to sa/da?

Hi All
So a local shop has some police turn in Sig 226's (40cal) that are DAK triggers. Anyone know if you could just buy the parts and convert them back to SA/DA? Would it be ridicules due to cost?

Thanks
Old Sarge

Yes, you can just buy the parts & do it yourself pretty easily. Check here for a list: https://www.topgunsupply.com/faq.html

You can do a DAO to SA/DA fairly easily for about $75 worth of parts. A DAK conversion is a bit more complicated and requires about twice as many parts and maybe a frame modification, but not positive about that. I've done the DAO conversion, but not a DAK.

Sig's $199 conversion on a DAK is a pretty good deal IMO.

btw: I bought a 226 in .40 cal. from Top Gun Supply for $399. It was a DA/SA, no conversion needed. You're looking at about $150 parts cost in addition to the purchase price even if you do the work.

From Sig,
"DA/SA CONVERSION
Convert your DAK or DAO SIG Sauer P220, P226, P229, or P239 to the DA/SA trigger system. Applicable to most later model frames only with some exceptions [2005+].

Call to verify compatibility. Price includes parts and labor. Original parts returned with your firearm."

MAINER is correct. No frame mod that I can recall but, a few more parts and $. Not hard at all to do. Just buy the parts. Top Gun Supply is the go to place.
