DSA SDN MEXICO DF marked build

I finally completed a FAL build using one of DSA's overrun, Mexican upper receiver, marked, SDN MEXICO DF on a Kaiserworks lower, and 17" barrel.

Luckily, outside of receiver being undertimed, I did not have any out of spec problems like others were having with locking shoulder holes, mag fit, etc. Used .264 locking shoulder. Still need to take to the range for a test drive

Here are a couple of pictures.

Fits me nicely, simple and lightweight. Bought on GB, I don't know the make. Aluminum tube with rubberized foam-like material cover. Had to cut tube about an inch to shorten LOP.

hmm, looked a little low.

I actually did something similar with an izzy stock for someone who needed a really short LOP. Made a para, with a solid stock so I could shorten the stock to less than a standard return spring tube.

Cool build pl521, it looks nice and solid. You beat me to a completed build. LoL, I haven't even started yet. I received my return authorization last week to return one of my Mezzis. That one will go back next week and I may start my build on my other Mexxi which, much like yours, doesn't seem to have any problems thus far.

Thanks Rick. I'm just glad both Mexican receivers I purchased did not have any of the issues identified. Working on acquiring a few more parts for my second Mexican FAL, a para folder version. Keep us posted on your build.

Here is my second build using SDN Mexico marked, overrun DSA Type 1, NCH, serial number 32178, upper receiver using IMBEL kit. Like the first build, I did not run into any problems with this build. Locking shoulder holes are in spec, just need to order a .260 locking shoulder to complete the build.

I had to modify trigger housing recoil plate from type 3 to type 1 to match upper receiver. I lucked out with both Mexican marked receivers!

A special thanks to Rick (G3isme), for giving me a .260 locking shoulder; my second DSA Mexico SDN marked FAL build is complete. Just need to go to the range to sight her in. I really appreciate the help and will surely pass on the gesture in the future. Many thanks.
