Props.

A sheriff's officer who threw off his gear and dived into a frozen pond to save an 8-year-old Utah boy on Christmas Day refused to be labeled a hero on Tuesday.
The officer, Washington County sheriff's Sgt. Aaron Thompson, responded to the frozen pond in New Harmony, in the southern part of the state, after the boy's friend called for help late Monday afternoon, authorities said.
The boy, whose name hasn't been made public, was chasing his dog when fell through the ice, authorities said. His condition hasn't been disclosed. Thompson suffered only cuts, bruises and symptoms of hypothermia, and he was back at work Tuesday.

Very nice!

The good folks in law enforcement do not deserve the disrespect they endure due the actions of a currupt minority.

Washington County Sheriff's Office
NEW HARMONY, Utah, Dec. 27, 2017 (Gephardt Daily) — The parents of an 8-year-old boy left fighting for his life after he fell through pond ice on Christmas Eve have shared a health update on the child, named Jason.
He is doing “very well,” according to information his family released to the Washington County Sheriff’s Office.

The story made national headlines after WCSO Sgt. Aaron Thompson risked his own life by breaking through the ice with his fists to search for the boy, who lay unconscious on the bottom of the pond.

There are those who take the "to protect and to serve" writing on the side of their cars seriously.

God bless that man and his family.

And the kid, too. Hope he makes it.

Or if during periods of mass arrests people had simply not sat there in their lairs, paling with terror at every step on the staircase, but had understood they had nothing to lose and had boldly set up in the downstairs hall an ambush of half a dozen people with axes, ham- mers, pokers, or whatever else was at hand. . . . The Organs [police] would very quickly have suffered a shortage of officers . . . and notwithstanding all of Stalin‘s thirst, the cursed machine would have ground to a halt." - A.
