Feeling lucky and rolled the SARCO dice

Did Israel really outsource their FAL parts to India?

During that time frame, they would have bought parts from the devil himself!
One does that shit when trying to survive.

Looks brand new and perfect.

And good to see that another member here did time with the 504th PIR.

What do you want???

Its a FAL metric buttplate and the country of origin starts with I. For Sarco you are batting 1000.

It is my understanding that the Hebrew marking is what makes an Israeli buttplate an Israeli buttplate. At first glance, this one looks good but it is not Israeli. It is a very oversized sloppy fit on any of my Israeli stocks. I would think that SARCO would have at least described these as not original parts, but I'm not going to lose any sleep over $10. Ordering from SARCO is always an adventure - God bless them. Maybe something good - Maybe something bad. Nobody knows.

I stopped in Sarco's retail store in PA a few months back and found some repro stuff made in India. Their Thompson Drum pouch was made in India, but was pretty nice. Picked one up for $25.

I have one of those that came with a buttless kit. Now I needed a butt to go with the buttplate, so I bought an Israeli butt from Sarco. I am fine with the buttplate made in India, and if it's loose I will improvise something. The ferrule I got with the kit is probably Indian too. I don't care.

Israeli LB buttplates seem to come in at least a couple sizes. Maybe the wood sizes changed a little over time. I've had ones that fit well on a genuine Israeli buttstock. Others were pretty sloppy and hung flush with or even over the toe of the stock, others seemed to be sized larger and closer to Belgian buttplates. All had the Hebrew marking in the center.

Your Pops would have participated in the only mass combat parachute jump in Viet Nam. Thank him for his service.
