Century L1A1 Acquisition

Picked up a Century Sporter L1A1. Receiver (serial # C 29xx) looks identical to my Argentine FMAP FSL. Accepts metric mags and is cut for folding charging handle. Someone already put really nice surplus wood buttstock, pistol grip, and forend on it. Has an FSE marked flash suppressor (not correctly fitted), Tapco piston, and FSE marked hammer. Trigger and sear may be FSE. Did not disassemble that far. Gas tube is loose; can be rotated 360, and it looks like someone dremelled the part of the wire for the carry handle that fits within the receiver. Has the Hythe rear sight, but when it got refinished it locked the detent button. Needs the sight detent loosened, and the gas tube and flash suppressor correctly fitted. Would like to replace wire on the carry handle as well. Had to dial the regulator down to 3 to get fired casings to eject. The bore, chamber, and interior of gas tube are bright, and the rifling looks good. Has an *FN marked receiver cover.

Numbers are: (x=?)
Buttstock- S x F59 2, Right forend-D61, Left forend- 23 F59
Barrel- FB336 & 960206 64D
Gas Tube-CF D81
Grip Frame- UE59, A45804, A48008(this # has been marked out)
- On the tang- 960-0071 59D
Charging handle- 9602302 F60
Gas regular dial- B
Gas block-D769602266
Bolt Carrier- Top, B59 960-2107, Right side, UE A 63751
Bolt- Bottom, UE A73215*, left side, 5220-57 E(in a diamond) D960-2104
Right side, D L
187 26

There are, of course, the broad arrow markings with many of these #'s.
Can anyone enlighten me as to the meanings of these #'s; part #'s, serial #'s, date codes, or all of the above? Anyone dealt with the FSE flash suppressors and/or the rotating gas tube issue? Thank you.

Looks like you have a L1A1 built on Argy receiver. That's a nice score and potentially end up into two rifles; an Argy and L1A1 Brit. How much did you pick it for?

A "C" prefix receiver is Argentine

F59 - Fazakerley 1959
UE 59 - Enfield 1959
B59 - BSA 1959

With the trade I did for it, I've only got about $475 in it. Other party had it priced at $850 though. BTW, thank you for clarifying the 3 date codes. I've never heard of Fazakerley. Were they a contracting company for parts only?

Congrats! You stole it! Can't answer question regarding Fazakerley. I didn't hear about them until I ended up with a F59 marked flash hider but I'm sure one of the knowledgeable members will chime in.

Got the rear sight figured out. It is just really stiff; not stuck. Appears that I am missing the gas tube retaining pin.

Fazakerley near Liverpool England was a one of the royal small arms factories where rifles were manufactured.

Fazerkeley did a lot of arsenal rebuilds back in the day, replacing worn parts with stuff that had their marking and/or marking the receiver (at least on the old Enfield bolt guns).

So, this rifle has a metric Argentine receiver. Are the tabbed inch receiver covers compatible?
