Whats the best adhesive for putting an XS Big Dot on a shotgun?
The title says it all, I have a XS Big dot that goes over the existing bead sight on a 12 Gauge Mossberg. I don't know if I should go with Red Loctite or JB Weld to attach it?
Is there maybe some other product that is better that I just don't know about? My concern is that the heat might make the adhesive give and I lose the sight. Thanks for any information you can provide guys. |

Call the manufacturer and ask them. Also, if you do lose it, just go back at night and you will find it.

If JB weld is your choice, use the moisture resistant JB Marine Weld not the standard JB. Autozone or Advanced Auto Parts has it. Gorilla Epoxy is also very good too. For an Epoxy bond to be of any value between non porous materials, you really need to have a little thickness to the glue joint between the parts, you can't just squeeze the glue out to near zero thickness. I like to Dremel a little pocket into the back of the least valuable part that I am bonding.

3M structural adhesive is some good stuff. It's a 2 part epoxy type thing. Not sure about heat. But it's damn tough.

I took a refinished model 12, chopped barrel to 19", put on a bead and used lock tight to put a X'S bigdot over it.
Because that way it fit in the locking box on my BMW R1150R (Motorcycle.) -legal wherever I went Lasted years, many rounds and well in excess of 10,000 miles (can't ride anymore)
