Hk for sale... Good deal?

I don't know much about this platform. Is this a good deal?

It's worth that for the parts.

Finding "steal case surplus" ammo for it may be a challenge. As said above, parts sets are going for more now. Especially with a barrel.

With the set up he has, which variation would it be considered?

How is the desirability/quality of that upper? On par with something like an imbel or stg?

I need to educate myself on these rifles. My knowledge is mostly FAL and AK

I wouldn't touch it even for the parts.
If you are asking how the rifle is as a whole, it is a parts kit with an aluminum receiver holding everything together.

Run like heck ..They are know to break apart and blow apart due to the that lower

I would say maybe for the parts but with a new I am guessing USA barrel ..No no no

You can get a PTR for 800 or 900 bucks or heck one of the weird Century C308 rifles at least they are built on a ok PTR lower and barrel

Parts kit at best. G3 parts not HK91 would be my guess. Receiver has little value. New 'barell' only works with steel cased ammo?? Maybe 350/400

Run away fast unless you are going to rebuild it on a PTR receiver. As it is, it's not worth the aluminum it's made with.

HK G3 parts kits with a US made bbl are $600. That does not include a receiver.

It is worth exactly $600

FAC Same as

FAC is the same as Biyou Repids,La. manufacture Aluma bomb. Only uses steel cased ammo, Really, Sound's like pure junk. Won't ship within 150 miles of his home. It's either a scam or a bomb waiting to go off on someone. Plus FAC went out of business quite a few years back.

I say this, During the early days of the assault weapons ban Springfield Armory bought about 1000 worn out G3 kits from a broker and used a company in Biyou Repids,La manufacture of aluminum receivers and put these kits together. They were pure junk and still are. Stick with a PTR 91 weapon, Prices are slowly dropping due to numerous reasons.

The receivers were made by Dan Coonan. They are not junk and don't blow up.

If it is a 100% HK parts kit with a US bbl. it is worth $600 for the rifle all day long. You can get that parting it out.

A new PTR-91 is $999 from PTR. Atlantic Firearms has some models cheaper. I bought my PTR-91 G.I. sans rail for $899 directly from PTR, and it's been exceptional.

I have one that I bought brand new back in the 90's. It's a piece of crap. It will not fire more than 2-3 rounds before it jams. It doesn't eject the fired case and attempts to pick up another round from the magazine. The finish on the receiver and stock is poorly done. It looks like they mixed paint and course sand and sprayed it on. I plan on having it rebuilt one day using a PTR receiver.

Yep - face to face, no shipping, and you'll be fine. I've done pretty well there.
