FAC type 1 count as a US part?
Its a amazingly simple question.
Does the FAC type 1 reciever count as a US made part? If so, what kind of documentation do I need to keep on it? Have 2 G1 kits and want to build at least one into a proper replica. Other I'll figure out after I build the G1 Thanks for any response |

Yep, keep your receipt. I think they are stamped USA.

Is there only 1 FAC type 1? The FAFAL1 is a US receiver and counts for 1 US part.
(1) Receiver (2) Barrel (3) Muzzle attachment (4) Bolt (5) Bolt carrier (6) Gas piston (7) Trigger housings (lower receiver?) (8) Operating rod [sic] (9) Trigger (10) Hammer (11) Sear (12) Buttstock (13) Pistol grip (14) Handguards (15) Magazine body (16) Magazine Follower (17) Magazine Floorplate I don't know if there is a 'needed' documentation, that is, I don't know of specific laws stating what documentation is requred. Typically people have the receipt and some parts are stamped with the manufacturer and/or 'U.S.' or something like that. I keep all my receipts together.

The FAC type 1 receivers are marked with two Minnesota locations, one for FAC in Fridley and one for DCI in Bloomington. That should be documentation enough for any law enforcement check.
There are four versions of the FAC type 1 receiver, with or without carry handle cut, and with or without ejector block installed being the variables. We will have some specials of these receivers at the warehouse sale this weekend. Harlan FAC |

According to ATF Firearms Technology Division in DC, if any question arises regarding the origin of any specific parts on your FAL, the burden of proof is on the guvernment. The US manufactured parts you've purchased and installed need not be marked "Made in USA". However, you ARE expected to maintain purchase recipts, and indeed produce them if necessary, for all applicable parts.
