OT-sock refinish for Chinese SKS

ak-47.nnet site is down so I hope you don't mind if I ask in this forum. Does anyone know what type of lacquer/varnish to use o the Chinese SKS stock? Thanks!

Faltex,
what I used for several chinese SKS stocks was to first sand out all of the dings & dents with 80 grit using an electric vibrating sander then do 150 grit go to 220 finish in 400 I used min wax in a light maple then finished with linseed oil it looked awesom. hope this helps
