Need someone in the Denver area to install barrel on a G-1 and a Imbel for me. Will pay pay going rates as I didn't want to invest in the tools to do it right just right now. Any recommendations??
THanks, Don D.

Don,
I might be able to assist you with the barreling and head spacing. Email me at krambor1@yahoo.com. I live on the north side of Denver. Mark |

I'd be too afraid to work on someone else's rifle. If something went wrong I'd be in trouble (not to mention I'd feel bad
). I did my own L1A1 and I did my own brakes on my truck. I've never been brave enough to do anyone else's.Besides, my vise bends a lot easier than it used to. I think the last barrel removal was almost too much for the little thing. I haven't met anyone personally in the Denver area who's into FALs. Doesn't seem to be a big enthusiast area. I think a lot of people around Denver buy guns and hide at home waiting for an opportunity to enforce their 'Make my day law' rights. When you get it all put together maybe post some pics? Later, Chuck Oh, I'm in Aurora.

Yes, The Springs is a nice place. West of here (I think it was some mountain place out 285 somewhere) I saw a sign out front of a house saying something like: Beware! Make my day law in effect! I never forgot the sign but I can't remember exactly where that house was.
Colorado Springs is very different, and in a lot (most) of ways nicer, than Denver. There seems to be a generally nicer culture. Colo. Spgs. seems like a cleaner city than the Denver area. I think the Air Force Academy has a lot to do with it. Commerce City, North Central Denver, Central/North Aurora (out east Colfax), seems like some odd parts of town are spreading. There are some seedy areas around here. I understand it's not nearly as bad as some of L.A. or N.Y. or Austin. I've never been there. I don't have one of the regular receiver wrenches. I made one of my own from a steel plate and a dremel. I didn't scratch my receiver but I don't think I'd want to risk put it on someone else's receiver. I haven't fired my L1A1 yet. I need to get it out and see if it actually works! jerrymc: I found some 3/16" rod in a lumber/hardware store that wasn't too expensive. I did the 2 rod method of barrel timing. P.S. Austin, L.A., & N.Y, please don't trash me too hard. I'm sure they have some nice areas too. It's just a couple of bad apples I've heard about. (how's that for a milktoast way for me to weasle out of a confrontation? )
