Just needed to say thanks...
It seems that not only have I been infected with the FAL virus but It also looks like a secondary C&R infection has set in. This past weekend I visited an out of the way gunshop, and as he was preparing to move to larger quarters was having a sale. And that little M44 just seemed so lonely sitting there. Well after about 40 rounds later I think I have been bitten hard. Now I've started looking for a 91/30 to keep it company. Than there's the M48's..... I have a feeling this is going to take a while to recover from (I hope!)

c&r's are easier to hide from the wife
my fal is only around because we had a decent tax return a couple of years ago and no real debt's so she told me i could buy a reciever.since then i've been buying c&rs to feed my gun addiction until my fal was finished.wich it is now.

I've been afflicted by the same disease. While I am past the contagious stage, I'm still a carrier!
Just enjoy the affliction. I figure somebody's got to do it!

Aah, the lovely and brutal M-44!
Shot about 50 rounds through mine (Hungarian M-44.M, 1953, all-matched SNs, US$ 65) this weekend, Memorial Day to be exact. Can't think of a better way to celebrate Freedom than banging away downrange. C&R keeps infecting me, but I haven't got it full-time yet. YET.

Like Ted, i spent part of a gorgeous Memorial day at the range with my darling daughter. She had fun with the .22s while i worked out a few bugs in my FAL. Then, it was Yugo M48, for some cheap blasting. After that, i dragged out the Swede 96 and last and best, the Swiss K-31. All in all, a great way to spend the holiday! This C&R disease will have me in bankruptcy court yet,,,
