Music. Americana, foreign and more.

I enjoy a wide range of music. I'm going to start posting some artists and works that probably don't get much if any airplay on commercial radio. I love Americana, REAL country, international and more.

If you've got a favorite, share it. I love finding new artists.

A Russian Lady, Pelageya (Пелагея). Pelageya is the blonde here with Darya Moroz. Pelageya takes the low part. Beautiful harmonies--even with lower quality Youtube, good headphones/amp recommended. The lyrics are classic crazy Russian. Basically a soldier has a dream his captain interprets to mean the soldier will be beheaded.

Pelageya leads her team during The Voice.

A very young Pelageya with Zhelannaya.

Sarah Potenza

Sarah Potenza got a boost with her appearance on The Voice this year.

Love her soulful, raw sound. Can't wait to hear her upcoming album.

One of my favorite tracks isn't done well on present YouTube material. But you can find it on Amazon--it's a cover of The Steeldrivers' You Put The Hurt On Me.

Here's another favorite.

My wife, Tara Elisha. Alternative Rock been compared to The Cranberries, Metric, Paramore, Even Pat Benetar. She and I write the lyrics together, she performs, we record together and I write and direct the music videos. One of our songs is going to be featured in an upcoming documentary about the Ukraine. The filmmaker, Ben Moses (Produced Good Morning Vietnam) liked several of our songs but is currently only planning to use "The Last Stand (of Free Thinking People) in his film. The documentary is supposed to be done later this month. Not sure when the premiere will be yet, but we have been invited.

This first video we shot in our back yard. It was 7 degrees.

This one was filmed just outside of Lawrence, KS:

Very cool, guys.

1911Ron, that's got to be some great exposure and experience. Good luck to those guys.

Ink, I can see why Ben Moses liked that song. I got Phantom at Tate, please holler back when an album with The Last Stand is available.

I hope this guy isn't new to everyone. Sturgill Simpson has been getting a lot of attention in the last year.

Music to me sounds like guitars and singing and dog whistles now. I can only listen to couple of songs and then I've had enough.

Why is that? Can't find an artist you like? Life circumstances got you preoccupied with other things? Or something else?

Marina Maximilian Blumin

Marina spent most of her life in Israel. Her parents moved from USSR when she was very young.

I love the huskiness of her voice in some songs. Beautiful woman as well.

Awesome! We have the full second album already recorded. Probably will release it later this year or early next year. We are going to release "Last Stand" as a single when Ben Moses releases the documentary, probably in a month or so. I am currently editing the music video for "Phantom" and am almost done with it. Then I have two more videos already shot waiting on editing; "The Door" and "Last Man". Last Man is a post apocalyptic theme and it features a couple of firearms from my collection. I almost used an FAL but opted for something else.

If you go to www.taraelishamusic.com you can sign up for our newsletter and then you will get the news regarding release of the single, music videos, album, plus any news about the documentary "I am a Ukranian". You will also get 7 songs for free when you sign up. However, 4 of those you already have if you bought the Phantom album Thanks for the support!

And you just can't beat some Buddy Miller. One of his best songs:

I've decided any music I want to listen to has already been made so not much interested in new stuff, though Americana is OK. I'm into bluegrass and old-timey, learning the banjo (EMP-proof, not a half bad weapon either).

Hey, didn't know they had a new album out. Just gave it a listen, sounds like they've toned down a bit?

I've got a few tracks from Bomb Shelter.

The new James McMurtry album is awesome. Caught his show a couple months back, and for such a laid back guy it's pretty high energy.

Track off latest album.

Couple of tunes from a band called Fifth on the Floor.

They broke up earlier this year, but the lead singer is working on a solo album.

Beth Hart

Seeing vids from the Paradiso always reminds me of Beth Hart. This lady has been around for a while. Powerful voice. I had a co-worker listen and he was surprised it was a white gal.

She's a far cry from her wild days... I'm surprised her voice survived. (F BOMBS)

Going to see Fred at the Double Door Inn in Charlotte later this year. It's a small place, 40 people makes it feel crowded.

Saw Robbie Fulks there back in May. Why that guy isn't a household name is beyond me.

Tried to find if Sturgill Simpson is playing anywhere close.

Playing Asheville (100 miles) next week. Unfortunately sold out.

Any of ya'll see Steve Earle on his current tour? He will be playing at the Paramount Theatre in Austin on Sept. 17. I'd love to see the show, but it's a Thursday and Friday is a workday.

Just checked his schedule and he's playing Charlotte next Saturday. I like some of his stuff but for some reason always got a "too cool for school" vibe from him.

Would really like to see his son play, though.

Damn, Otis. I still have my unused ticket from several months ago when I was supposed to go see Sturgill local. Had to work instead.

Sometimes you can find a reasonable deal on StubHub.

The Devyl Nellys. They play a kind of mambo and funk infused pop. Or as they call it, ass-shakey and head-boppy.

I can't resist. His politics and mine might part ways sometimes, but the man is an enormous talent, I've seen him 6 times since 1975.

I don't think they've toned it down I think they're showing a little more range. they kicked serious ass when I saw them a little over a week ago. I took my 15 year old daughter to the show and as a rule she pretty much ignores everything I listen too and she really didn't want to go but after she saw these guys live she was hooked and wants to see them again
