Assad shot by Body Guard

http://www.thegatewaypundit.com/2013...d-in-damascus/

Looks like the old boy is in trouble. Look for an all out assault on his forces
and a power vacuum that is likely to be filled by Iran. This could get ugly
as Israel is already shelling Syria.

I like how wiki already has him dead, but the updates at the bottom of the article say the rumors might not be true.Guess we will wait to find out for sure.

I'm sure it wont be good at all if he's dead-what a mess over there........

rather than later.

I know of a particular Kenyan that could be the next leader of Syria. Problem is he's under qualified

I guess it didn't happen. The report was pulled from Drudge.

Yep, shot or not He's getting beat up. The fact is that the PLO was the first
group over there to use the media to manipulate things in vastly new way.
They would manufacture scenes where children had been hit by rockets
etc. The media now becomes part of the show. It should be interesting
when the bullets start flying over here what happens to the 'Media'.

Since Assad is so secretive it's easy to target him as he rarely reacts.

I wonder if the story made Assad second guess the loyalty of any of his guards?

Surrounded by men with guns and easy access..........

Well this from Turkish news paper Hurriyet Daily News.

Colonel Riad al-Asaad, the founder of the Free Syrian Army, a rebel group fighting to overthrow Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, was wounded by an explosion in Syria overnight and is in Turkey for treatment, a Turkish official said on Monday, Reuters has reported.

Wrong Assad, depending on whom your rooting for...................

It's always the palace guard that takes down a tyrant. Any aspiring future dictator that might be in the process of building up a homeland security apparatus might want to keep that in mind.

These people can't find themselves a replacement for Assad that wouldn't tyrannize them just like he does- so why should we intervene at all?

For the USA to remain a superpower, we need to at least be very selective about our foreign entanglements. History has shown us that every foreign intervention eventually becomes an entanglement, because our enemies seek to fight us there rather than on our own ground. Any fight against us in CONUS is doomed to failure, if for nothing else than the 270,000,000 guns in possession by the public.

Of course, gun grabbers and our neighbors to the north and south tend to decry gun ownership even while enjoying the protection afforded by it. Look at Switzerland; their gun rights have really taken a beating over the past 1-2 decades, and the policy is no longer robust enough to protect them from invasion. It's not like it was in WWII.

This guy is Sadam Hussein in nicer clothes. We have no one to support there and anyone that wins will be challenged by some other radical Islamist faction until it looks like Beirut in the 80's.
