WTS Heat Treated 80% AK47 Blanks with rails Update:Gunsmithing shop Now Open

The 07 manufacturing license finally arrived. So, in addition to what I have been offering below. I am now offering AK and FAL kit building. refinishing services, heat treating of your AK blanks or folded flats. As well as completion of your AK receiver. I am open to all types of AK and FAL work as well as many other weapon projects. PM me with any details. Thanks!

I am offering Heat Treated 80% Polish AK47 Blanks with rails. These are fully heat treated and professionally done. Takes the torch work out of making your own AKs. Warpage is held to a minimum. These blanks are coming out of the oven straighter than most Century or IO receivers Ive built on.

NO FFL needed. No manufacturer markings. NO date. Holes will need drilled and the rails will need welded in place to make this a functional receiver.

$60 shipped for a hardened shell and hardened rails. I take MO's, Checks from members or cash. And as always I am not above trading for cool FAL stuff or what have you.

I can also heat treat your current 80% blank or folded flat 100% receiver for $30 dollars + shipping.

I also have a few unhardened AK 47 80% blanks with rails for $43 shipped.
I do have a small number of AK74 blanks available as well hardened and unhardened.

Ask questions here or PM me.

Hey Doc glad to see someone is offering this. Do you have any plans/ jigs to do an RPK blank like this? I've had a primo Romy RPK kit for 10 yrs I guess. Few years back Adam 762 did a really nice park job on it for me too. Anyway missed out on the correct receiver a few years back and now I want to bring this beast to life. I've tried to make a few flats work but was never satisfied with the bends on the front trunion. If you can do one bent up nice and heat treated I'll take it.

Yeah the first AK I ever did was a Romy RPK back in the mid or late 90's.. I cut the front off a brand new OOW reciever and welded what was left of the front stub on to it to make what I wanted. I rebuilt it with a NDS a few years ago.

I can do a flat for you but it probably wont be until my FFL gets approved. At that point I can do complete kit builds, make my own receivers and hot blue / park whole rifles rather than just parts.. Let me see what I can come up with..

I've waited this long so what's a lil longer gonna hurt. I'll take the first one when you get things rolling. A bent blank is all I need. Got a Bridgeport mill in the garage that can handle all the holes and magwell cuts. Just hit me up when things are ready.

I bought (3) receivers, some of the best I've seen.

Before I sold off all my AK-47 parts sets, my (3) stepsons decided they'd like to try their hands at building some AKs. Since Friday, they've all ready cleaned up the parts sets and spot welded the rails in place on their (3) builds. Receivers are a perfect fit for the trunnions, everything is going together nicely.

Dumb question: is it ok then to drill receiver after it has been hardened?

Yeah its fine to do it that way. Metal is harder obviously, so the drill bits dont go thru as fast as they would if it were unhardened. But, most would rather do that, than mess around trying to harden the receiver and potentially ruin it after all the work is done.

Its a little harder to drill them, but not terribly so. Any good set of sharp hss bits should go through the metal. When I do prehardened ones i use a spot drill to make a pilot hole and then use proper size to finish it out.

Shameless bump and plug, checkout the ak I sent to matt for a refinish, rebarrel, etc I have posted in the AK FILES section. Excuse the funky axe stock, had to do my part for the zombie killin fad Also pay no mind to the shitty gripwrap I have to have on to run 30s..like wearing a condom playing with your fleshlight.
He did a park, black moly, smoothed the action a bit and prevented me destroying a new barrel by installing it for me.
I am VERY HAPPY with it

To Largesfc and EinheitElf - who is this Matt? Is that Dr. Shock's name? If so I wonder why he isn't replying to posts for his expertise? Both I and Largesfc have requested his heat-treating services and had no reply. I've even tried e-mailing him and have had no luck. Does he still even perform this service? He may have alot on his plate but I think he'd better finish dinner!

Hey Guys. Was at a show all last week and still havent caught up with everything.

I am still doing the receivers if anybody needs this. I am also doing AK and Fal builds along with saiga and Vepr work and most other gunsmithing or kit building. As well as refinishing.

skynr - Sorry I didnt see any emails or PMs from you. may have got lost in the mix. Best way to gt me is via PM on this site. I can fix you up just let me know what you need. I dont have any complete receivers available for sale right at the moment.

Thanks Guys!
