ORF receiver help

My brother in the Buckeye state bought a ORF receiver against my advice. He has his build almost finished, Imbel kit, but says with a head space gauge inserted he needs a .187" locking shoulder. Waay too small, any suggestions since his barrel is chrome lined?

Remove kit from paperweight, list paperweight on GB, sell paperweight. Use proceeds from paperweight sale to buy an Imbel receiver.

Or....frame and hang paperweight above workbench. Two reasons.
1, Remind himself of mistake.

2, keeps another P.O.S out of circulation.

Back it off one full turn and breech it to the receiver with a barrel washer a la Commonwealth style. *I wouldn't be surprised if it landed in the .260" something range.

*Disclaimer: Or, maybe not.

He'll be at .250, still small and his gas piston will be .0625 short, and who knows what else. I'd start over with a new receiver.
