Early Browning Import FAL
Did the original Browning import FALs, I believe in the late 50s early 60s, have a long slotted flashider with two small rows of holes behind the slots?

Just the standard long "Browning" FH, no holes other than the slots themselves.. Some of the contemporary Rogak 50.64 paras had the standard combo device, I'd venture that some of the 50.00s may have had them as well.

You must be referring to the one I saw on Gunbroker.
As JArm said, these would have a long/T48 flash hider. They do not have holes behind the slots.

Very true ( and also true of the Rogak 50.64s, of course), though technically not a "Browning import" as the OP specified.
Dang, you did have to bring up the Rogaks - I still want one of those 50.00s !!!

You and I both Jim! The Rogak 50.00 is one of the few that I'd really like to find and add to my small collection.
