Paris is safe for the moment.

Hmm,
Very interesting that they are not buying PMs. Sounds like most just want to cash out of the Euro while its still high against the dollar. Funny that guy brought up the mark of the 20s as why he is getting out. Germans once bitten by worthless fiat are twice shy. So many interesting points, they consider saving to be losing money with the low interest rates and creeping inflation. They also seem to be secure that there will be future even if the euro collapses. No mention of bunkers or prepping for the apocalypse. Maybe I should brush up on my German, sounds like it will be OK there. Thorack

But who will have money to buy your Mercedes gull wing when the bottom falls out?
I wouldn't be spending money on a vintage car as a hedge. Too many other important commodities and training take precedence.

Mark IV,
Thats the point, they see a light at the end of the tunnel when that Gullwing will have high value XX years in the future. Maybe its because they as a country have been through this before and the world didnt end. It was rough for about 30 years but those that made it out the other end were OK. When I lived in Germany I noticed that they thought decades in the future where as we think in much shorter time horizons. They arent thinking bunkers and end of the world, they are thinking its gonna be a rough patch and then back to normal. I think thats more of what it will be like, a real rough patch then back to normal, how long I dont know and how rough I dont know. I figure we are due for a big war so who knows. I do think there is light at the end of the tunnel though. Thorack

Hope you're right. I tend to be pessimistic regarding this issue.
