Son (back from Afghanistan recently) and I were on our way back home from farm today, and he told me story of one of his buddies who overlooked a single 5.56 round in his carry on luggage. They discovered it in an Alaska airport, the previous 4 airports had missed it. Yeah, it's working real well.

I know, what can a single round, without the firearm with it do, but in TSA's eyes, it's all bad.

He was lucky is was an Alaska 'port, as most of Them Standing Around are hired local and know the score. But it is good to clear the plaque out of the arteries every once in a while.

I was in the Anchorage Ted Stevens International flying back out to home when one of the guys asked me if he could look in my bag. "Sure" (if I say "no" there is NO way to get home unless I know someone with a 206 to fly me out and $1500 in fuel). He pulls out a bottle of water I forgot in there. He laughed when he saw the blood drain from my face because I knew if he was going to push it all the way I'd be in for a ride. I apologized and went to my flight.
So far here at least they are just a minor annoyance.

I've been thru a CF...chinee firedrill, as well as the obvious!

with the TSA. NO fun when they call yer flite and yer stuff is still strewn about the counter. Two check-ins and one pre-flight querie. All different stories and reactions. No breaking out their own regs, either!
